The Secret She Must Tell the Spaniard by Clare Connelly is Graciano and Alicia’s dramatic and angsty reunion story and Book 1 of the Long Lost Cortez Brothers miniseries.
Ten long years have passed. Graciano and Alicia are very different people when they’re thrown back into each others orbit. Purchasing Alicia in a charity auction, Graciano whisks her away to his beautiful home where she is tasked with putting her event planning skills to good use. But the years have not forgotten the young love they both had for each other or the pain of their separation. To complicate matters further Alicia is desperately trying to find the right moment to tell Graciano he is a father.
Clare Connelly writes with the detail, drama and angst that I love. From the horrific family dramatics from the past being confronted head on to the responsive passion in the present, set in a beautiful location, I was hooked. Alicia is determined to face her consequences but there never seems to be the right moment. Graciano is a well written dark and tortured man who by book end will be facing not only the past he shares with Alicia but the past he share with his long lost brother.
A detailed and passionate reunion with massive consequences which I was all on board for. I really, really enjoyed Clare Connelly’s March 23 new release.
