In The Surgeon’s Christmas Wish by Annie O’Neil, Dr. Tara Braxton runs a ski injury clinic in a ski resort in Deer Creek. The lone life she has chosen for herself is very different from her old life in NYC. Her peaceful existence comes to an abrupt end when Dr. Fraser MacKenzie joins her clinic. She can’t fathom the effect he has on her. With his haunted sapphire eyes he simultaneously weakens her knees and presses all the wrong buttons! And when an unexpected kiss leaves them both reeling, their frozen hearts begin to melt.
Can two frozen hearts finally melt and come together this Christmas..?
The Surgeon’s Christmas Wish is the debut medical romance by Annie O’Neil. I totally loved this book from the start and I am desperately hoping the author writes a whole series in Deer Creek, where the story is set.
Tara Braxton lives a private life and runs a ski injury clinic. She left NYC after her fiance stole her research work and managed to hurt her in the worst way possible. She has been burned before and is unwilling let her heart suffer more. Therefore she is very surprised when Fraser begins to make her feel things she has not felt for a really long time. Fraser is a nomad and does not do commitment. He is continuously moving from one place to another and is unwilling to settle. He too has skeletons in his past which have affected him and continue to affect him.
Fraser and Tara are the kind of characters who touch your heart and make you leap with joy when they finally get their HEA. They totally deserved each other because they completed each other in more ways than one. The romance is warm hearted and leaves you with a big smile in the end.
I loved how the story was different and took many unexpected turns, there was every emotions in the book from friendship to a touch of sadness.
A definite must read for all medical romance lovers. If this is Annie O’Neil’s debut, I can’t wait to read more from her!
