The Way I Hate Him by Meghan Quinn: The past few months have not been all that easy for Hattie Rowley, after the death of her sister and failing her last semester of grad school, Hattie really just needs some time out and chance to figure out her next move, which is how she finds herself heading back to her home town of Almond Bay. However shortly after returning home Hattie is hit with another shocker when her no good boyfriend breaks up with her and effectively leaves her homeless. Now this is when things really get interesting, wanting a bit of revenge on her now ex-boyfriend leads her to Hayes Farrow, the very same Rockstar that happens to be her brother’s nemesis! Somehow things get twisted and Hattie goes from trying to return stolen items of Hayes into getting blackmailed into working for Hayes… talk about one major mix up, but maybe this could be just the thing that both Hattie and Hayes need…
The Way I Hate Him was just perfect, this small town enemies to lovers romcom is the perfect testament to everything that I love about Quinn’s writing. This book was both cute funny and heart warming and moving. I just could not get enough of this couple as they tried to figure out their feelings for each other.
I just loved our leading lady Hattie! She said what she felt and she did not hold back and I just loved this about her character. For the most part she was a strong and bold leading lady but behind her smiles and jokes, she was still trying to recover form losing her sister and the insecurities that were linked to losing such an important part of her life. As for our hero, well I was totally sold on Hayes being grumpy and arrogant, but once we got to see that he was actually a closet softie well this just stole my heart completely! Hayes was a prime example of not everything that glitters is gold, even though he has everything a guy could want he was still hurting from being abandoned by his parents and best friend. You really cant blame the guy for being a bit thorny and keeping his guard up but he is no match for Hattie’s sassy liveliness. I loved seeing Hattie waken a part of Hayes that he had decided would no longer exist.
I just adored Hayes and Hattie together. I loved getting to see their relationship grow and getting to see them forming such a close bond and trust. However it was the build up to their happily ever after that really made this book all the more addictive. These two not only had banter for days but the tension bouncing between them was so intense! the build up was so on point and that final moment when Hayes snaps, well that was something else alright! Aside from having some amazing steamy moments I loved the emotional bond that Hayes and Hattie formed, both have been through some rough moments but they work through them and support each other.
The secondary characters in this book were pure gold! I loved every single bit of Gran! Gosh this lady was just a hoot! Truly we all need a Gran in our lives. As for our girl Maggie, well she is exactly the type of friend all girls need. I loved how loyal and protective she was when it came to Hattie, but more than that I loved that she had absolutely no filter, girl just said it as she felt it.
The Way I Hate Him is a total must read, this book has a good amount of sass, heart, drama and all the Meghan Quinn magic that makes a book un-put-a-down-able!

Why am I holding a box of stolen memorabilia in my arms? It’s called . . . revenge.
After failing my last semester of grad school, I decided to come back to my hometown and wallow in my boyfriend’s sympathetic arms. Instead, he proceeded to dump me . . . for being boring!
Now, I’m not typically a spiteful person, but there’s only so much I can take. Hence why I’m holding the box of his most cherished possessions…stolen possessions no less!
The plan? To give the box back to its rightful owner and rat my ex out. How’s that for being boring?
But plans never go the way you want them, because instead of dropping off the box with a note, I’m pinned with the crime by the true owner of the box himself.
Hayes Farrow is grumpy, arrogant, and stupidly hot in a way that makes it hard to even look him in the eye. Not to mention he’s my brother’s nemesis so I fully intended to stay far far away from the gorgeous jerk.
But to add insult to the injury that has become my life as of late, Hayes gives me two turn me into the police and press full charges . . . or work it off. How could I possibly work for someone I can’t stand? Easy, I don’t look good in orange.
But working for Hayes isn’t as horrible as I thought it would be. The way I hate him begins to turn into something else – something I never thought I’d feel. But the way my brother reacts when he finds out I’m working for his enemy? He’d prefer me in prison orange.
