The Wedding Planner’s Christmas Wish by Cara Colter: Alexandra has worked hard with Gabe in a
wedding planning business that specializes in helping create the perfect day for wealthy clients. After Gabe becomes ill, Alexandra is left having to visit Drew who is the owner of a lovely home and grounds that would make the perfect wedding venue. Things start off in a different sort of way when Alexandra hears little girl giggles from a pile of leaves. As she helps the young girl out, a frantic nanny comes running. The little girl is Genevieve, the daughter of the owner of the home. Drew is a widower and has never really gotten over the death of Genevieve’s mother.

Alexandra is stunned to find out that even though she has a contract for using the home for an upcoming venue, Drew states that weddings cannot be held at the location. Alexandra has to convinces him to change his mind because her whole career is on the line. Can she get this sad, but handsome man to change his mind with a little help from the adorable Genevieve?

This story is surely a slow burn romance and that fits perfectly. I love that the author has paced this book just right with no repetition. Repetition is one of my pet peeves in reading either romances or mysteries.
The character’s back stories are revealed and they show growth over the arc of the plot. Both have let tragedy hold them back in many ways. Even with love, it is hard to heal past hurts.

I have enjoyed other novels by Cara Colter in the recent past. This current novel is the first in a series by three different authors. I look forward to them and other books in the future by Ms. Colter.
