The Wrong Guy by Lauren Landish: As a busy lawyer sometimes Wren Ford just needs something or rather someone to help her decompress and for the past while that person has been hottie construction worker Jesse Sullivan. When it comes to hot flings and steamy friends with benefits arrangements Jesse is your man, but Jesse and long term commitment do not go in the same sentence, and this is starting to be come a tiny problem seeing as Wren is starting to crave a bit more from her situationship with Jesse.
In the hope of sparing her heart any pain Wren decides to distance herself from Jesse but with their town of Cold Springs and the affordable housing project put in jeopardy due to a messy divorce dividing the town, the two have no choice but to team up if they want to save their hometown…
The Wrong Guy was such a cute small town, friends turned lovers romcom, with a nice little bit of mystery thrown into the mix. I really loved getting to go back to the cute and quirky town of Cold Springs, I will say that it would be a good idea to read the book before this, just because a lot of what happened in the first book is referenced in this one, however you could probably get away with reading this as a standalone. As much as I loved this book I think the only thing that held me back from making this a 5 star review is because I could not help but feel like the divorce between Jed and Chrissy took up a large chunk of the actual storyline.
I really liked our leading lady, Wren, not only was she such a kick butt lawyer but I loved that she was so fierce and independent. Even though she was such a powerhouse when it came to legal work she still faced insecurities and fears. I really liked getting to see her work through these and really having Jesse be there to show her that he sees the real her. Now for our hero, well lets just say that Jesse was swoony. I loved this guy and all this macho, cockiness but more than this I loved his softer side that Wren brought out. I loved getting to see him open himself up to the possibilities of forever and having a family of his own.
I loved the connection between Jesse and Wren, these tow had such a great chemistry, that it was super easy to root them on. Their major problem was the lack of communication or rather the miscommunication, if they had been more open with each other they would have been able to reach their happily ever after a lot faster. Though I will say that I loved seeing Jesse open up to Wren and share a part of himself that he really never had. I loved the fact that he was always there to support Wren and really just be there for her to unwind with. I will say that I found Oliver totally annoying and could have so done without him but I guess he was the push that Jesses needed to finally act on his feelings.
I just adored the secondary characters, well I wouldn’t say I adored Jed and Chrissy, but the rest of the towns people were just the sweetest. I loved the easy, community vibe that came from Cold Springs and how much everyone was rooting Jesse and Wren on. There was one part that just melted my heart, where the entire town gathered to get the tea on what had been happening with Jesse and Wren and the kiss. This was easily one of the best parts of this book.
The Wrong Guy is a total must read! If you want a spicy, laugh out loud, friends to lovers, small town romance then this is totally the book for you!

Wren Ford is the city attorney for Cold Springs—a job she takes seriously. Good thing she has a great form of stress relief: a friends-with-benefits arrangement with the well-muscled and very attentive construction worker Jesse Sullivan. Wren’s heart secretly craves more, but how can she fess up her feelings to a man who doesn’t want to get tied down?
Jesse is head over heels in love with Wren, but he can’t picture a happily ever after. What would an attorney and out-of-his-league goddess want with him? Especially when a flirty, cocky lawyer who screams money and power shows an interest in Wren.
As a scandalous high-profile split escalates from name-calling to corporate takeovers, Wren and Jesse must team up to find a way to protect the people and the town they love. And everyone in Cold Springs is rooting for them to figure out that maybe, against all odds, they’re made for each other.
