Things I Wrote About by Kelsey Humphreys: As a romance author Sadie is used to being in charge of how the happily ever afters go but not so much when it comes to her own real life. So a little island getaway for her sisters lavish wedding might be just the thing that she needs to find herself some new material but also a hot holiday fling… the thing she did not need or want was to come face to face with the former best friend turned enemy Shep Riggs!
With Shep being the grooms close friend and really no where to hide Sadie decides to face the elephant in the room head on, snarky barb for snarky barb! The thing she did not expect was Shep to be so determined to tell his side of the story… maybe this isn’t the end of the Shep chapter as Sadie though but just the start to their story…
This book was just something else entirely! I think it is safe to say that the emotional rollercoaster that Shep and Sadie took us one will stay with me for a good long while. This book was emotionally beautiful and I loved every moment! I will say don’t start this book if you don’t have time to get lost in it, because once you start you really are not going to want to put it down! I have absolutely been loving Humphreys books so far and this book just topped it off as my new favourite. One of the things that I really enjoyed about this book was that we got see their story from the flash back and through the present.
Sadie and Shep take us on an emotional journey with them as they figure out where exactly they stand in each others lives. For the most part I really liked both main characters but I did find Shep to be a bit mean in the way he treated Sadie for most of the book, but he had his reasons for doing this. Now for our girl Sadie, well it was hard not to like her not only was she quirky and fun but she was living her best romance author life granted with not the best luck in her own love life.
This couple really go on a rollercoaster of emotions, they clearly have a strong connection but each time their timing just sucks and more often than not leads to heart break. This only made getting to see them laying all the cards on the table and overcoming all their hurdles all the more beautiful in this book. I will warn you that you are going to need to keep a few tissues on hand while reading this book because you are definitely going to be tearing up at more than a few times
Things I Wrote About is an emotionally addictive read that will have you hooked right from the first chapter. Now I can not wait to read the next book in this series!

Sadie Canton writes America’s favorite romance novels. She’s created one hit happy ending after another, all while avoiding her own painful cliffhanger.
But she can’t avoid him anymore.
Her sister’s wedding is forcing her to face her demons, her secrets and most of all her best friend turned bitter enemy, Shep Riggs.
The boy she knew is gone and the man before her is angry, arrogant, competitive, and hot as the Caribbean sun bearing down on them. Sadie planned for this. It’s time to be the hero of her own story, face her past and close that chapter of her life for good.
She’s ready for her villain and his jabs, his smirk, even his eightpack.
What she’s not ready for is Shep’s side of the story, and he’s determined to tell it — rough, unedited, and nowhere near The End.

Looks like they have a lot of emotional baggage to get through.
