To Win Her Back by Mackenzie Crowne: Victoria, V, left behind the love of her life, Sam, fifteen years ago in a fit of panic when she discovered his future was going to be back in their hometown, the one place she could never go back to. Now, she’s public relations coordinator for Manhattan Marauder’s and she has to face him for the first time since running away to offer him a job as the team’s new offensive coordinator.
Sam can’t believe he’s seeing V again, the woman who left him with no explanation after he was injured and lost all hope of playing for a pro football team. But now that they’re working together, he may finally get the reason why. It helps that his daughter has fallen for V and wants to keep her around.
All V wants is to be with Sam again, to finally not be alone. But she doesn’t know if she can tell him why she thought. Not when she’s kept it secret and held inside all her life.
I’m a big fan of this series and To Win her Back was a great continuation of it. Normally I feel the secret is never that big or it’s far too absurd, but in this story I felt it was real. Her panic and pain felt believable, and I get why it lasted the entire story for her to open up.
Both V and Sam are likable characters. They come at each other with some good tension which they slowly work past – although some of their decisions, such as Sam’s odd plot, don’t make the most sense. Even so, it’s fun and I definitely feel they’re a good couple. They fit for me as they fill the holes in each other. And, while I normally don’t care for second chance romances, I highly enjoyed To Win her Back.
For those who love second chance romances or football love stories, I recommend Crowne’s To Win her Back. It’s sweet, lightly sexy, and a good comeback romance.

Will the mistakes of the past ruin their future?
As public relations coordinator for the Manhattan Marauders pro football team, Victoria “V” Price has the wealth, prestige, and glamour she only dreamed of growing up. All she’s missing is a man to share it with. V thought she gave up her shot at love when she left her childhood sweetheart in the dust of her rural Texas town, along with the painful secrets of her family life. But the past comes roaring back when Sam Fitzpatrick, the only man she ever loved, is hired as the Marauders’ new offensive coordinator.
Despite Sam’s reluctance to work alongside V, his distrust of the woman who broke his young heart is no match for their swiftly rekindling passion. Yet even as V’s tough PR persona gives way to her softer side, Sam wonders if their chemistry is enough to overcome the wounds left unhealed between them. But when the devastating truth of V’s past is exposed, threatening both her career and their second chance, Sam finds himself asking a different question: does he have what it takes to win back her love?
