Too Wrong to Be Right by Melonie Johnson: Kat is so done with dating jerks, after her last boyfriend ups and dumps her to join a dating show in Canada! If this wasn’t bad enough he leave her with his pet hedgehog, okay well Jojo is actually kind of cute, so we can call this part a win. But the moral of the story is that Kat is done dating the same kinds of guy that she has aways gone for, maybe this change is just the thing she needs to find Mr Right! So when she a slightly strange if not kind of morbid meet cute with a guy at a funeral home right over a casket, the last thing that Kat should do is flirt back, right? After all isn’t she supposed to be breaking her own dating patterns? But there is just something about the connection between her and Mick that Kat can’t seem to ignore… which begs the question what on Earth is she doing starting up a relationship with his stiff and stuffy older bother?
I have to say I actually enjoyed this book more than I had expected, especially seeing as I had a moment where I wasn’t to sure if this was going to be the book for me, nevertheless after powering through a few chapters in the beginning I couldn’t help but get invested in Kat and Mick’s story. I have to say I loved that this was a slightly quirky setting for a romance novel, the entire funeral home vibe wasn’t as dark and dull as I had thought it would be.
I was a bit on the fence with Kat, there were moments that I loved her character and then there were the moments that I just wanted to give her a slap. I will say that for the most part Kat was pretty relatable in the sense that she was feeling left behind where all of her friends were beginning to settle down and she was nowhere near this point in her life. As for her ideal guy list, well I really can’t fault her for having goals and standards here, I think we have all done this at some point or the other with our gal pals. In this aspect I found Kat to be very relatable but when it comes to the way things went with Mick and Mike, well that’s where I didn’t really like her. Nevertheless I think it all worked out in the end.
Man I just wanted to give Mick a big ole hug, this guy really was a sweetheart. I loved the connection that he had with Kat which only made my heart hurt all the more by the fact that he was willing to step aside for Kat to find happiness even if it meant seeing her with his snotty brother. In all I think Mick was genuinely a great hero and I really enjoyed getting to see him find his way and his place in life, but also actually standing up and voicing his thoughts.
I just loved the banter between Kat and Mick, these two had one of the funniest meet cutes ever and I loved how oddly quirky it actually was. Right from the get go these two clicked and I would not wait to see this connection grow and manifest into one cute love story. Granted they had a few challenges along the way, some that really could have been avoided if they had communicated better and actually followed their feelings.
The supporting characters in this book were just great, I loved how supportive Kat’s grandmother was and add in Mick’s grandmother and these two old gals had me in stitches! I also really liked Mary Kate, she was such a cute side character, though I do wish she had told Kat a bit about the strained relationship between her brothers. However it was Jojo the cute little hedgehog and Shamus the foul mouthed cockatoo that really stole my heart! These two added such a cute element to the book and I could not wait to read their scenes.
All in all Too Wrong To Be Right was a pretty enjoyable read that I would recommend to romance lovers, this book was grand mix of emotions ranging from loss, family politics and most importantly love.

We may decide we want one thing, but our hearts don’t always cooperate. This sounds like a cute story.

Nice review. The meet cute reminds me of the Stephanie Plum series. There was always a lot of social interaction at the local funeral homes.
