In Twelve Hours of Temptation by Shoma Narayanan, Melissa D’Cruz needs to reach Goa to attend her first major awards ceremony but a night of deadlines and no travelling options have forced her to remain chained to her desk in Mumbai. With 
her options of reaching the awards ceremony all by herself being zero, she decides to take up her boss’s Samir Razdan offer to drive her to the event himself.
The twelve hour long road trip proves to torturous for both of them because of their obvious attraction towards each other but it is the beginning of a new chapter for them. Pretty soon they start an affair fueled by lust at first but it soon develops into a lot more for both of them.
Twelve Hours of Temptation is another well written and engaging Indian contemporary romance by Shoma Narayanan. The story is split between two locations Goa and Mumbai with the major part taking place in Mumbai. The road trip covers a very little part of the story but it does play a crucial part in the development of the romance between the characters. Samir is a sexy, successful and hardworking business man who is like the perfect man for a romance novel. He has had a bad relationship experience in the past and therefore is not looking for any kind of serious relationship. Melissa is the perfect heroine because she is strong, confident and has an independent career. She also has an unfortunate past but it doesn’t pull her down or make her afraid to go after what she believes in. I wish there were more heroines like her.
The romance is simple, realistic, engaging and without any too much descriptive sex scenes. There is no over the top drama going on nor is there some crazy twists involved, It is a simple story of how two individuals meet some pretty realistic conflicts in their relationship and how they ultimately have their HEA after working through their problems.
Overall, Twelve Hours of Temptation by Shoma Narayanan is a romance which will surely impress the cynic in you. If you are looking for a simple, engaging and believable romance then give this one a shot.
