REVIEW: Two Christmases by Suleena Bibra

Two Christmases by Suleena Bibra  is the second book in the Love at Auction rom-com series. This was a new-to-me author and the blurb sounded fun, so I was eager to give it a try. It was full of Christmas festivities and the comparison between a city Christmas and a country Christmas was interesting.

Sonia Gupta loved New York City and spending Christmas there. She loved decorating spaces so helping Beau was a challenge. She just needed to convince him to use her family’s art auction house to furnish his new offices.

Beau Abbot has no knowledge of art and doesn’t understand spending so much money on it. He is willing to let Sonia help him with his new offices and show him all the city has to offer. But to him, nothing is better than a southern country Christmas and he wants to show Sonia why.

I enjoyed reading about all the Christmas activities and the comparison between city life and country. But I did not care for Sonia as a character, and I never felt a deep connection between the main characters. This made the pacing of the book very slow for me and I just could not stay engaged in the book. The banter between Sonia and Beau was funny but the nicknames (especially Old MacDonald” was cheesy and got to be annoying. This was not the book for me, unfortunately.

There’s no place like New York City for the holidays…

At least, according to Sonia Gupta. If only she could get South Carolina farmer Beau Abbot to agree. Convincing him to use her family’s art auction house to outfit his new business is turning out to be a hard sell—and keeping things professional in the face of Beau’s Southern charm is a whole other challenge.

A country Christmas can’t be beat…

It takes a lot to impress country boy Beau, given his general aversion to everything in the big city—except possibly Sonia. Certain nothing compares to the charm of Christmas in the South, Beau invites Sonia home to the farm, showing her everything a country Christmas has to offer. But relationship-wary Sonia isn’t looking for a commitment—especially not with a guy who has no plans to stay in the city.

’ Tis the season for romance.

Soon, Sonia finds herself swept up in the festivities—and Beau. Too bad embracing the best of both worlds doesn’t allow your heart to be in two places at once…
