Unloved by Peyton Corinne: Freddy is well on his way to becoming one of the best NHL left winger draft picks, well that is until his academic life comes crashing in to the mix. While on the ice Freddy might be the man to be, when it comes to his school work, well he is the man no one wants to be, however if he has any hope of gaining his inheritance and a spot in the draft he needs to pass biology. Which is where hopeless romantic Ro comes in, as his new tutor it is Ro’s main job to get Freddy focused on his class work and keep his mind off partying, and while for the most part this has been working just fine for the two of them… that is until their study sessions begin to turn into deep late night conversations. With a new undeniable heat simmering between them Ro and Freddy are forced to decide if they want to cross the line between only friends or exploring the incredible connection that is growing between them…
I love a sports romance and add in the fact that is has the bad boy falls for his tutor trope and you know it will be a winner in my books, and let me just tell you Unloved did not disappoint one bit! This book was cute, funny and had all the highlights of a good sports romance with a nice punch of heart. Aside from being a really cute love story, we also get a heartwarming journey of self and not allowing anyone to dim your light or make you feel small, even if that person might be a family member. Truly this was a beautiful written book that caught my heart right from the get go.
Both of our main characters were just the sweetest, I wanted to just wrap the two of them in a warm comforting hug and never let them go. Gosh Freddy, our heartbreaking hero was so much more than his good looks and athletic abilities. This guy was just a lost soul looking to find his home, and I just loved getting to see him find his safe haven in Ro. Each of the chapters that we got from his perspective just broke my heart, the pain that was laced through them was just tangible, it truly broke my heart seeing him feel less than and not realising his true worth outside of hockey and his looks. Truly Freddy was one of the best written male lead characters you will find the amount of heart ache and self doubt that he carried around just broke my heart. For all his bright smiles and cheeky one liners our hero was a broken boy deep down, this only made me love the connection that he found with Ro all the more. Now for our leading lady, Ro, she was a true hopeless romantic. While there were moments that I just wanted to shake her and snap some sense into her, I truly could understand her deep desire for wanting to feel loved and really not knowing that true love is unconditional and so definitely not what Tyler was showing her. Gosh did I just hate Tyler, this guy was the worst and I really don’t even want to waste time talking about him, all I will say is that I’m glad our girl found her way to Freddy.
This couple just saw each other, they were the home that they were each looking for and getting to see them find this with each other was just beautiful. While no one took the time to really see Freddy beyond his sporting persona, Ro saw him, she saw the self doubt and the learning difficulties and fought for him. I loved getting to see him go from Freddy the guy everyone on campus knows to being Matty the real true version of himself with Ro, now this was just beautiful. And this allowed him to open up his softer side and show Ro just how deeply he cared for her and that he to saw her. I loved how sweet and thoughtful he was when it came to her and the way he just remembered the small cute details. Truly this couple was just heart meltingly cute, while they had to slay each others dragons they truly won themselves a beautiful love story.
The supporting characters in this book, like in the pervious book were really great. Im really curious about Bennett and his story, hopefully we get his book next. As for Toren, lets just say I feel that all his bad boy vibes are just a cover for what I hope is going to be one of the most swoony heroes ever.
All in all I just loved reading Unloved, this book was beautifully written with easy to love and relate to main characters, a heart warming story of finding unconditional love and simply a really cute sports romance. Definitely a book that I would recommend reading!

Matt “Freddy” Fedderic is all smiles—at least on the surface. On the ice, he’s the star left winger for the Waterfell Wolves with a stellar reputation in bed and a potential future in the NHL. But in the classroom, he’s barely scraping by on a 2.0 GPA, retaking dropped classes and struggling with a rough mix of dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD. Freddy had plans to enter the NHL draft at eighteen, but then his estranged father added a “graduation” clause to his inheritance, and now, he needs help to pass Biology with a professor who’s already betrayed him before.
Ro Shariff is a hopeless romantic with terrible luck in love—and now, Freddy’s new tutor. She keeps telling herself that she’s very happy with her on again/off again boyfriend, but Ro is desperate for real affection. As her tutoring sessions with Freddy lead to friendship and late-night phone calls, an undeniable heat begins to simmer between them, which they’re both trying desperately to ignore.
Although they are too protective of their newfound friendship to cross that line, Ro can’t stop thinking about how Freddy was her first kiss her freshman year at Waterfell, a spine-tingling moment seared into Ro’s memory that Freddy doesn’t seem to remember, and Freddy is determined to protect Ro from his reputation at all costs. Meanwhile, Ro wants to prove to him that despite what others have led him to believe, he’s worth more than his body. But maybe, just maybe, together they can learn how easily the right person can love every part of you, even your flaws.
