Wanderlust by Elle Everhart: Dylan Coughlan can’t help but feel a bit stuck and demotivated which is what prompts her to impulsively call into a radio station, little did she know that her one impulsive call would win her a once in a lifetime trip around the world! This is just the thing that Dylan needs to get out of her funk, there is a catch however her travel partner is going to be someone randomly selected from her contact list. The last person that Dylan could have ever wanted to be selected was the Jack, some random posh guy that she meet on a night out… also a guy she kind of ghosted… well this trip is definitely going to be interesting. However if Dylan has any hope of actually get her own column at the magazine that she works for then this trip needs to be a success and her readers just have to love her relationship with Jack…even if it means that she has to fabricate some details…

Wanderlust made for an interesting read. I liked the complexities that this book had and as much as it was a cute romance there were a lot of more serious topics laced throughout the novel. I will say that from reading the synopsis I had expected to be jetting around the world to many different exotic places with Jack and Dylan getting to see them fall in love in each place but we don’t get to much of this travel.

Dylan was a great leading lady, she was the type of girl that knew who she was and was not afraid to say this is me. I enjoyed getting to see her find her way and learn to go after what she wanted. I think at the start of the book she might have come across as a bit childish and short with they ways he treated Jack but as the book progressed we got to see her grow and really support Jack. Where Dylan was crazy wild live in the moment, Jack was more methodical and practical, which fitted in with his whole suited up lawyer image. Though once you got to really know the guy he was a total sweetheart.

There was some really nice underlying chemistry between Dylan and Jack, we kind of get a feeling for the chemistry that they first felt for each other on the night of their first meeting and this sort of grew as they got to know each other now. One of the things that I liked about this couple was that once they understood each other and why they ticked the way they do, they fully supported each other. As much as I enjoyed Wanderlust the pace just did not work for me, this was just to slow burn for my liking. The ending needed a bit more but at the same time it could have been shorter, I just felt that there was some unnecessary bit that dragged they novel along.

If you are looking for a really slow burn romance then Wanderlust is definitely the book for you.

Love’s about to take flight .

Feeling stuck at work and tired of London’s dreary weather, magazine writer Dylan Coughlan impulsively rings a radio station one day only to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip around the world. The catch? Her travel partner must be a contact randomly selected on her phone. And of course this stressful game of contact roulette lands on a number listed only as Jack the Posho , an uptight, unbearably posh guy she met on a night out and accidentally ghosted.

The two couldn’t be more different, and as the trip kicks off, Jack seems like he’d sooner fling himself into the sun than have a conversation with Dylan. But more is hinging on this trip than the chance to see the world. For the past two years, Dylan’s been relegated to writing quizzes (and only quizzes) at her lifestyle magazine after an article about her past abortion went viral—and not in the good way. If she’s able to make a series about their trip successful, her overbearing boss will give her a chance at a permanent column. Dylan’s willing to do anything to make the series a hit, even if it means embellishing her and Jack’s relationship to satisfy readers. But as the column’s popularity grows, so does the bond between Dylan and Jack, and Dylan is forced to consider if the one thing she thought she always wanted is worth the price she’ll have to pay to get there.

Thank you for the review. Looks like a story I would be interested in.

I don’t mind a slow burn story, but how it ends is important. I don’t like abrupt endings that seem rushed or like the author got tired of writing and just ended it.
