Watch Over Me by Sydney Landon: At the encouragement of her friends, along with some liquid courage, Gwen finally goes after what she wants…Dominic. They live at the same apartment complex and work in the same building, so she’s admired him from afar for some time. Dominic fell for Gwen the first time he laid eyes on her. After watching the horror of her dating one of his best friends, he’s more than surprised when she just shows up at his door.
Dominic decides to make the most of the opportunity that was just handed to him. He’s determined to show Gwen that he’s the right man for her. Dominic is a sweet, thoughtful, alpha male. He’s even willing to make a fool of himself just to be with Gwen.
“You know that I take the water classes here. Are you sure you want to work out with me?”
She stood grinning at him waiting to see him squirm. He cocked a brow, as he unzipped his gym bag and pulled out a pair of swim trunks. Her mouth dropped open in shock, and he pushed it closed gently. “Checkmate, baby. I’m sure if you like the class, I will as well. Now, let’s get going.”
While Gwen is enjoying how easy is to be with Dominic and their explosive chemistry, she’s waiting for the other shoe to drop. He’s a great guy and shows his appreciation for who she is and her body, but she’s almost constantly on edge waiting for him to leave her for someone else. Her last few boyfriends have left her and then promptly gotten married, which makes her that much more apprehensive.
“But you didn’t buy me a bra-or panties. You told me to put on what was in the bag. Did I miss something?”
The poor man flinched before asking in a strained voice, “You aren’t wearing panties, either?”
Watch Over Me is a fun and engaging romance with a good balance of sweet, heat, and humor. Watch Over Me can be read as a standalone book in the Danvers series. Sydney Landon developed a great relationship between Dominic and Gwen with plenty of heat and banter. Ms. Landon also created an entertaining cast of secondary characters, including those from the previous books in the series. Fans of Kelly Moran and Jessica Lemmon will enjoy Watch Over Me.
