REVIEW: Watching Over You by Lori Foster

Watching Over You by Lori Foster is the third book in her McKenzies of Ridge Trail series. I really enjoyed this book. The storyline is fast paced and smooth.

This is Madison McKenzie’s story. When her mother was taken by human traffickers Madison’s father, Parrish, vowed to get his wife back. Parrish was successful but his wife had been too traumatized by the ordeal and she ended up committing suicide. Parrish decided to raise his three children, Madison, Cade and Reyes to always be aware of their surroundings and schooled in self defense. The family eventually became a cause for stopping human trafficking.

Madison is the tech guru for the effort. On a previous case Madison met police detective Crosby Albertson and was greatly attracted to him. In this story Madison gets to act on that attraction and work with him.

Crosby Albertson was a very dedicated police detective but he gave up his career for personal reasons. Parrish McKenzie hires Crosby as head of security and to work on a special project. Someone is out to get Parrish and Crosby is in charge of stopping the guy. Crosby is very attracted to Madison McKenzie and resisting that attraction becomes useless.

Lori Foster has done a super job including the whole McKendrick family although most of the emphasis is on the heroine Madison and hero Crosby. Patriarch of the McKenzie family, Parrish, also is included with a story of his own. The dialogue was fun, especially the teasing back and forth amongst Madison, Cade and Reyes. Crosby’s little girl, Hallie, is adorable and adds a sweetness to the story.

The suspense, sexy scenes and characters made this a 5 Star read for me. Plus I greatly admire Lori Foster for addressing the evil of human trafficking in this series.
