REVIEW: What Her Sicilian Husband Desires by Caitlin Crews

What Her Sicilian Husband Desires by Caitlin Crews is a dark second chance romance between two people who are married for convenience.

Summonsed to her husbands castle, Chloe is convinced her husband is about to call time on their five year marriage which has been in name only. Lao is Chloe’s step brother; they grew up together and quite close. Chloe asked Lao for help when all her loved ones passed away and he didn’t hesitate to step up. As the years have passed the mutual attraction has grown. Ready to combust, Lao takes charge and decides it’s time they become man and wife in the true sense, regardless of what Chloe thinks.

Very dark and lots of angst, I’d recommend this story for anyone who genuinely loves this type of tale and is willing to look past Lao’s possessiveness of Chloe. The author did a good job of redeeming him. I was hooked but struggled at times because Lao was next level. I love the devilish hero’s but Lao is on another level. I enjoyed Chloe growing into herself and deciding when enough was enough. That was so well done. I loved her taking charge with her heart on the line. Caitlin Crews is a Queen when it comes to writing emotion and this was my favourite part.

Different but still enjoyable.

Innocent Chloe Stapleton married powerful magnate Lao Monteleone for protection after her father’s death. They’ve lived separate lives since. So, when Chloe is summoned to his breathtaking Sicilian castello, she expects him to demand a divorce. But her husband demands the opposite—an heir!

Chloe’s attraction to Lao has always simmered beneath the surface, something their in-name-only union strictly forbids! And while she wants to trust Lao with her body and her lonely heart, accepting his terms would mean her total, all-consuming surrender…

Dark and angsty, not my thing, but I do like Caitlin Crews’ writing.
