What You Need by Lorelei James: Brady Lund has been driven to succeed and take on a leadership role in the family company. He’s now the youngest CFO in company history and works so much he often sleeps in the office. He comes from a close-knit family who has no problem meddling in his life. Lennox grew up in difficult circumstances and is now determined to have a very different life from that of her mother. She loves to work at Lund Industries, but she also makes sure to present a more conservative image and hide the tell-tale signs of her past.
Brady has been attracted to Lennox for a while and was working up to eventually asking her out on a date. He loves that she has treated him as a man, and not as a CFO, during their interactions at work. But he’s also very surprised to recognize her at the bar where his family staged his intervention.
“I will.” He smirked. “As soon as the paint is dry. But while we’re waiting, tell me what time I’m picking you up for our date tonight?”
“When did I agree to a date?”
“Last night at the bar. I saved your pretty neck, remember? I said I’d be in touch, but since we’re both here and it’s a Saturday night, I don’t see any reason to wait.”
Lennox definitely noticed the sexy, handsome CFO but she believes he’s out of her league and off limits. Brady is able to convince Lennox to help him branch out and try new things as a part of his intervention. Brady takes advantage of this extra time outside of work with Lennox to get to know her better.
While Lennox isn’t quite sure of where they stand or how she fits into his life, Brady is quick to clarify things. He knows that he needs her in his life and refuses keep their relationship a secret. They have great chemistry and she challenges him.
“That’s what matters to me, Lennox. What anyone else thinks of you is immaterial, because I like you. Say you’ll meet my family.”
Stupid, sweet man. “Okay.”
He grinned and kissed me again.
What You Need is fun, sweet, and sexy. Lorelei James captures the angst and anticipation of a slow burn, family-run office romance with engaging characters. Ms. James provides the interesting world of the Lund family and Lund Industries as a promising start to a new series. Fans of Jaci Burton and Shiloh Walker will enjoy What You Need.

New York Times bestseller Lorelei James introduces a new family for readers to fall in love with in the Need You series. The Lund name is synonymous with wealth and power in Minneapolis-St. Paul. But the four Lund siblings will each discover true love takes a course of its own…
As the CFO of Lund Industries, Brady Lund is the poster child for responsibility. But eighty hour work weeks leave him little time for a life outside his corner office. His brothers stage an intervention and drag him to a seedy night club…where he sees her, the buttoned up blonde from the secretarial pool who’s starred in his fantasies for months.
Lennox Greene is a woman with a rebellious past—which she carefully conceals beneath her conservative clothes. She knows flirting with her sexy, but aloof boss during working hours is a bad idea. So when Brady shows up at her favorite dive bar, sans his usual snappy suit, and catches her cutting loose, she throws caution aside and dares him to do the same.
After sparks fly, Brady finds keeping his hands off Lennox during office hours is harder than expected. While she makes him feel alive for the first time in years, a part of him wonders if she’s just using him to get ahead. And Lennox must figure out if Brady wants her for the accomplished woman she is—or the bad girl she was.
