Wild Cowboy Ways (Lucky Penny Ranch #1) by Carolyn Brown: What I love so much about reading a Carolyn Brown book is that each and everyone of her characters are just so engaging and real. They are funny, and hopeful and human. They could be your neighbor, your friend, they just worm their way into your life and make you disappointed to see the book end, yet hopeful with anticipation for the next book to be released. This is the first book in her incredible new Lucky Penny series, and I for one cannot wait for the next installment. This is the story of Allie Logan and Blake Dawson.

Blake, his brother and cousin purchase the rundown Lucky Penny ranch hoping to restore it to its former glory, turn it around and make it a real working ranch. But Blake might have bitten off more than he can chew with a leaking roof, rotten carpet and sagging drywall. When beautiful and talented Allie Logan agrees to fix up the old ranch house for him, he is counting is blessings and the beauty has him seeing stars. Wanting to get away from his “bad boy” ways, Blake tries to keep his hands off, but Allie is a little to hot and a lot too tempting to keep this cowboy away.

Allie has been burned before. With a marriage that ended in divorce after her cheatin husband ran around and tried to control her, Allie doesn’t trust easily. When Blake asks for her help in fixing up the ranch house, she agrees, thinking that she can keep things professional. But the more time that she spends with Blake, the more that she comes to realized that the gossips are wrong about the sexy cowboy, that he is someone that just might be able to get this relationship scared cowgirl to believe in love once again.

I loved the relationship between Blake and Allie. They teased, they joked, and they had each others backs. Blake was so wonderful with Aliie’s Granny even when she could not remember who he was, what year it was, and hurled insults at him. Allie letting down her guard and letting Blake in was the best thing that she could have ever done. They were so meant for a HEA.

This book has it all, humor but the tractor full, sexy cowboys, and a sweet HEA. I look forward to more of the Lucky Penny Series.
