In Wine Hard, Baby (OHellNo #6) by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, With her dream job as the financial controller at a winery in Oregon, a cute home, and a plan to live her life her own way–not her controlling family’s way–Camila “Cami” Clark is on a roll. Well, she was. Until Jed Redford, hunky cowboy extraordinaire, shows up in Oregon. Cami thought when she not-so-politely refused his dinner offer when she was in Texas that he would take the hint and she could avoid temptation. All that luscious, tanned, hard-bodied temptation. But, nope. Jed shows up for a wedding at the winery and it all goes south from there.
‘I want to hate Jed. I want to despise him. Yet he just keeps doing things that push me in the opposite direction, which kind of makes me hate him more. But not. It’s complicated.’
Even though Cami is one step away from giving in to her attraction to Jed, she knows she must stick to her plan. The one that will hopefully find a suitable guy that her overly religious parents will approve of. A guy she actually cares for. But of course Jed just won’t leave her alone. As Cami learns more about him, she realizes they’ve both probably assumed the worst about each other a time or two…or three. Is there even a shred of hope that Jed could get the green light from her family? Cami doesn’t know if she’d have the strength to choose between him or them if it came right down to it. And that has her running scared.
“Jed, listen to me carefully,” she says through clenched teeth. “It’s almost the end of this book, and we haven’t even made out yet.”
Seriously. How much sexual tension can one girl take?
A hot cowboy who’s more than meets the eye. A numbers nerd who’s caught between a rock and a hard place. And a whole lot of crazy chemistry. That, in a nutshell, is Wine Hard, Baby. Which was every bit as engaging and satisfying as you would expect from Mimi Jean Pamfiloff.
“I just don’t want to be that girl–the one who needs rescuing all the time.”
“You know, Camila,” Jed says softly, “I never wanted to rescue you because I felt sorry or thought you were helpless. I think the world needs more women like you–beautiful and smart.”
Leave it to MJP to keep readers on their toes in the midst of a pandemic with a will-they-won’t-they type romance that was filled with giddy highs and fairly devastating lows. I’ve got to admit that I didn’t see things working out between Cami and Jed. But I knew MJP wouldn’t let us down. And after many, many changes of heart and oodles of laugh-out-loud moments between the cowboy and the accountant–both of whom you’ll probably want to smack alternately throughout the book!–I can say that it eventually *did* all work out. But what a wild ride it was to get there.
Cami and Jed were something else. She loved everything to do with numbers, was BFF to Gisselle from book five, My Pen Is Huge, and she had a serious (and hilariously creative) potty mouth when stressed out. Oh, and Cami was trying to live her life according to her own ideals and dreams rather than that of her uber religious family. Which was why her attraction to Jed was seemingly doomed. Because for as charming, well-read, intelligent, and stand-up guy that he was, Jed was not part of the church Cami’s family was deeply involved in, therefore making him off-limits. And that just threw both of them off kilter. Watching Jed and Cami slowly (so, SO slowly) put the pieces together and figure out how, or even *if*, they wanted to be in each other’s lives was a hoot.
What a delightful, cheeky, whirlwind of a romance Wine Hard, Baby was. In true Mimi Jean Pamfiloff fashion, this will leave you breathless with the twists and turns and make your heart go pitter pat with the swoony ending.

From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes an Enemies-to-Lovers Romantic Comedy.
CAUTION: CONTAINS HOT COWBOY. Do not mix with wine. Avoid watching him do shirtless labor on hot days.
SIDE EFFECTS MAY INCLUDE: Feeling of extreme temptation, excessive drooling over his abs, elevated heart rate, and loss of coherent thoughts when in his presence.
My name is Camila Clark. And that sexy cowboy right there? The one with the devilish smile, twinkling brown eyes, and tattoos on his muscular arms? He’s Jed, the guy I turned down flat back in Texas. He just showed up here in Oregon at the winery where I work.
The question is why?
Not that it really matters. I have my reasons for staying away from all that manly temptation. Reasons he can’t possibly understand but seems determined to punish me for.
But the more I fight him, the more I learn about this mysterious, hot-as-hell cowboy. I just don’t know how much longer I can keep pretending to hate him.
The problem is, I’m technically engaged to a guy I’ve never met.
