Hi Piper & Rayne and welcome to HJ! We’re so excited to chat with you about your new release, Birth of a Baby Daddy!

To start off, can you please tell us a little bit about this book?:

Birth of a Baby Daddy is the third book in our Bailey series, but each book is set around one Bailey sibling and their love interest with an HEA. There are two sets of twins in the Bailey gang, and one of the boy twins is the baby’s father but we’ve kept that from our readership as a surprise. The title says it all, this is a secret baby trope.

What inspired this book?

Each book in our Bailey series centers about one trope. Who doesn’t love the secret baby trope?

How did you ‘get to know’ your main characters? Did they ever surprise you?

The primary Bailey has appeared in the earlier two Bailey books and he’s a classic bachelor for life type of personality. He has a drive and brings humor to the page. We can’t name him because of the whole secret of who he is until you read the book but he’s the guy that swear he’ll never fall so it was fun to watch him stumble his way through fatherhood and love.

What was your favorite scene to write?

The second chapter that’s in his POV where he grasps on to the concept that he has a daughter.

What was the most difficult scene to write?

The first chapter in our heroine’s POV when she shows up to tell the Bailey sibling he’s a father. We wanted to make sure it captured the reaction we wanted.

Would you say this book showcases your writing style or is it a departure for you?

It definitely showcases our writing style. It fits with The Baileys feel with a little more heart because there’s a little girl who just discovered she has a daddy. That’s heartfelt all on its own.

What are you currently working on? What other releases do you have planned?

After Birth of a Baby Daddy, we’re taking a hiatus from the Bailey series and heading into our other world with a spin off from our Blue Collar Brothers series with our White Collar Brothers series, the cousins of our Blue Collar Brothers. Another Italian family, this time in New York City with three powerful, wealthy and arrogant brothers who love their bachelor lives. It kicks off on June 11th with the middle brother, Lorenzo “Enzo” Mancini in Sexy Filthy Boss.

Excerpt from Birth of a Baby Daddy:

I inhale a deep breath, remind myself of the reasons why I’m here. The wind picks up when I push the door open and a cold draft travels into the warm restaurant. All heads turn simultaneously in my direction.
I quickly take each one of them in as I step toward the table. I scour each of them for familiarity but when my eyes land on Denver, my heart beats triple time.
All the memories of that night and what drew me to him rush to my mind. His good looks and hazel eyes. The way his arms and chest fill out his shirt. How the stubble on his face scraped against my inner thighs.
But he’s clearly not on the trip down memory lane with me because there’s zero recognition on his face, which stokes my anger.
“I’m sorry, this is a private party. Family only,” a pretty blonde woman says, sliding out of her chair.
“Well, then I guess we’re in the right place,” I snip.
Everyone at the table exchanges looks of confusion.
A man in a chef’s uniform emerges from the kitchen, walks across the dining room carrying a platter of beef.
Wait… what the hell is going on?
I glance from the chef to Denver.
The chef doesn’t notice me, placing the tray in the center of the table. “Why is everyone so quiet?” he asks, following the other’s gazes over to myself and Calista.
My mouth drops open and I prop Calista higher on my hip. “There’s two of you?”
Denver tilts his head and the chef rounds the end of the table growing closer.
“I’m sorry, how can I help you?” he asks. The fact there’s zero recognition in the chef’s eyes either fuels my anger like gasoline thrown on a fire.
My eyes narrow. “You can tell me which one of you is the father of my little girl.”
Everyone’s head at the table swings from one man to the other.
I glance from the chef to Denver, who both wear an expression of panic.
What have I gotten myself into?
