Hi Cynthia and welcome to HJ! We’re so excited to chat with you about your new release, Highland Champion!

Thank you to my readers!

Please summarize the book a la Twitter style for the readers here:

When a rugged Highlander is paired with a refined English lady, what could go wrong?

Please share the opening lines of this book:

She’d done it. She’d escaped. Lorelei Caldwell sank back against the leather squab of the Earl of Butes’s carriage and turned to Fiona MacGregor, her new sister-by-marriage. “Can you believe we are finally on our way to London? For the Season?”

Please share a few Fun facts about this book…

A stubborn alpha male meeting an equally strong-willed female creates sparks.
A heroine bent on “adventure” wanders into dangerous elements
Encouraging a duke’s daughter to flirt with hero ( as a distraction) backfires.
Herorine and Hero find themselves betrothed, but not to each other.

What first attracts your Hero to the Heroine and vice versa?

His easy charm and her free spirit.

Using just 5 words, how would you describe Hero and Heroine’s love affair?

Love nearly lost with one mistake.

The First Kiss…

Dream sequence made real

Without revealing too much, what is your favorite scene in the book?

Escape from an abduction.

She started scooting her chair over to the rickety table hoping she could rub the rope along the edge and free herself when she heard the shattering of glass. Turning, she saw Emma squeezing through the now open window.
“What are you doing—“
“Getting you out of here.” She pulled a knife from her boot and started slicing through the rope. “We do not have much time though.”

If your book was optioned for a movie, what scene would be absolutely crucial to include?

Rescue from ship.

“They are planning to take us to Tripoli.”
“Tripoli?” Somehow, Fiona managed to keep smiling. “Why?” She whispered so their captors wouldn’t hear.
“They are going to sell us.”

Readers should read this book …

If they like strong heroines in a time when women were supposed to be docile.

What are you currently working on? What other releases do you have planned?

Medieval novel set in Robert the Bruce’s time period (1314)

Excerpt from Highland Champion:

She moaned into his mouth and pressed closer to the heat of his body, even as he lifted his head.
“Do he want more, lass?”
“Y…yes…mo…more…”
And suddenly, the heat was gone, leaving her cold. Lorelei’s eyes sprang open as she sat up. For a moment, she still thought she was in the Vauxhall gardens, but she was in her bedchamber. Alone.
Alastair hadn’t touched her or kissed her. The truth— which felt like a bucket of cold water—washed over her. She was only his sister-by-marriage. His SISTER and his DUTY. That’s what he’d said this afternoon when he didn’t know she was listening.
His SISTER.
She pulled the pillow over her head and let the tears come.

In my youth, yes. I may not have ventured into the bowels of London’s other world, but I travel alone overseas in Southeast Asia and managed to get myself in a few tricky situations.
