Spotlight&Giveaway

Hi there! Thank you so very much for having me here to share with your readers a book I am most attached to

These men are dark, bold, and brave. And there is only one woman who can bring them to their knees…

Famed and brilliant, Lady Alexandra Lane has always known how to look out for to herself. But nobody would ever expect that she has darkness in her past―one that she pays a blackmailer to keep buried. Now, with her family nearing bankruptcy, Alexandra strikes upon a solution: Get married to one of the empire’s most wealthy eligible bachelors. Even if he does have the reputation of a devil.

LOVE TAKES NO PRISONERS

Piers Gedrick Atherton, the Duke of Redmayne, is seeking revenge and the first step is securing a bride. Winning a lady’s hand is not so easy, however, for a man known as the Terror of Torcliff. Then, Alexandra enters his life like a bolt of lightning. When she proposes marriage, Piers knows that, like him, trouble haunts her footsteps. But her gentleness, sharp wit, independent nature, and incredible beauty awakens every fierce desire within him. He will do whatever it takes to keep her safe in his arms.

The door revealed Redmayne with a creak of hinges.
A delicate thrill followed the pang of dread in Alexandra’s belly. His black wedding suit was still immaculate, but the sea wind had disheveled his consistently unruly hair. A sable forelock hung over his scar, and Alexandra’s fingers suddenly ached to smooth it away. He closed the door to the stateroom and locked it, turning to allow his gaze to wander over her with an indolent appreciation.
“I sometimes forget . . .” he murmured as though to himself.
Alexandra swallowed layers of nerves before she could speak. “Forget what?”
“How beautiful you are.” He undid his cravat as he traveled the length of the sitting room. “Then I see you and realize that memory cannot compare to reality. I’m left as breathless as the first time we met.”
Alexandra’s breath abandoned her, as well. Stolen by his proximity. By the potency of his masculinity and the possibilities of what the next hours might hold. By his lovely words. She turned from him, retreating with measured steps back toward the bedroom.
“The first time you saw me?” She gasped out what was supposed to be a casual laugh that wouldn’t have fooled a deaf man. “Covered in tweed and mud?”
In three strides he was behind her. His fingers smoothing through the gleaming mass of her unbound hair, following its length to the small of her back.
“You are more beautiful covered in tweed and mud than any woman swathed in silk and diamonds.
“The things you say.” She wanted to hide her face.
“You may have read everything there was to read about what we’re about to do,” he murmured, finding a spot on her temple with his lips he seemed fond of kissing. “So, it isn’t any wonder you’re dreading it.”
She drew back, tucking a thread of hair behind her ear. “It isn’t?”
He caught her hand, lifting it to his mouth. “Did your books teach you about desire? About sensation? Could they adequately explain how the lightest of touches, the whisper of a kiss, can be felt throughout your entire body?”
His breath scalded her skin as he turned her palm up and pressed reverent lips to her fingers, letting them feather across his mouth with an expectant patience. His eyes fluttered closed when she traced the seam of his scar, the healed skin a shiny, smooth dissection from the velvety feel of his lips.
Mesmerized, Alexandra did her best to remember just what she’d read about . . . about anything.
Ever.
She couldn’t. Her entire being was focused on his mouth.
“I—I don’t recall that passage,” she breathed.
His beard scraped against her fingertips as he moved his attentions to her palm. He slid the lace of her nightgown back, discovering the delicate skin of her wrist, nibbling at the iridescent veins he found, then smoothing a kiss over it.
“You must know, Doctor, that there is so much more to be learned in application, than can ever be taught in a lecture hall or read from a book.”
“T-true.” Something melted in her knees, turning the bone to liquid. Her breasts were suddenly tender, the tips rigid and sensitive against the worn cotton of her night rail.
He released her hand, and it dropped against his chest, her wrists limp and fingers trembling. “What did your texts teach you about temptation, anticipation, longing, rapture, or bliss?” he queried. One hand skimmed her spine, the other investigating the modest, spun-lace collar held together by a trail of pearl buttons. She struggled through a swirling fog of a thousand, thousand emotions, sensations, and reactions to reply to him.
“N-nothing.”
He leaned in, his lips pausing before they brushed hers. “Let me teach you about pleasure,” he said against her mouth, nudging her nose with his in an oddly affectionate gesture. “And I’ll do my best to spare you pain.”
