REVIEW: Flow by Kennedy Ryan

Flow by Kennedy Ryan: Bristol is looking to reconnect with her twin brother, Rhyson, since they’ve barely stayed in contact after his emancipation. She’s smart, sassy, curious, and desperate to have her family back. The last thing she expected was to be palmed off onto Rhyson’s best friend when arriving in LA for a visit. The instant chemistry was unexpected, but the connection and sense of knowing Grip for years instead of hours is definitely surprising.

“It’s got wheels.” She pulls the suitcase toward her and finally meets my eyes. “My feminist sensibilities tell me to carry it myself.”
“Maybe my manhood won’t let me walk idly by while a delicate lady carries her own suitcase.” I shrug. “I got a rep to protect.”

Marlon, aka Grip, is a rapper trying to make the most of his talent. He takes whatever jobs he can until he gets his break. He’s sexy, charming, and definitely a playboy. Bristol may be off limits, but he can’t resist her or stop himself from falling. He loves that she surprises and challenges him.

“I ask you a funny sex question, and you go for the jugular with this?”
“You didn’t place any prerequisites on it.”
“I didn’t know I was dealing with a sadist, or I would have.”

Flow is an engaging look at how Bristol and Grip meet. Kennedy Ryan provides a good buildup and anticipation before a surprising end. Ms. Ryan provides a good intro into the characters and story for this duet. Flow is a prequel novella that should be read first. Fans of Gail McHugh and Abbi Glines would enjoy Flow.

Book Info:

Publication: Published February 25th 2017 | Kennedy Ryan | Grip 0.5

In 8 years, Marlon James will be one of the brightest rising stars in the music industry.

Bristol Gray will be his tough, no-nonsense manager.

But when they first meet, she’s a college student finding her way in the world, and he’s an artist determined to make his way in it.

From completely different worlds, all the things that should separate them only draw them closer.

It’s a beautiful beginning, but where will the story end?

FLOW is the prequel chronicling the week of magical days and nights that will haunt Grip & Bristol for years to come. GRIP is the full-length conclusion of their story.
