REVIEW: Live Wire by Caisey Quinn

Live Wire by Caisey Quinn: Chase has merely been existing for the last four years. He’s been haunted by the memories of losing the one woman he loved and leaving the military. Since then he has built a pretty good life as a member of the Nashville PD and gets to use his extensive background in explosives on the bomb squad. He’s a sexy badass with a tight-knit group of friends.

Vivien has put all of her focus into her work. She’s great at what she does and is a respected member of her FBI unit. After everything that happened with Chase, she shelved the past away and refuses to open up that box again. When her team is called in to assist the Nashville PD with a new threat, she’s determined to do her job, but at the same time nervous about the upcoming fallout.

“Never figured you for a coward.”
Well, that was unexpected. Chased frowned at her. “What exactly have I done to make you think I’m a coward? Faked my own death and left town in hiding without a word for four years? Wait, no. That was someone else.”

Chase and Vivien have an interesting reunion. Chase is understandably shocked to have his long-lost girlfriend very much alive. They definitely have their battles as both have to come to terms with unresolved feelings and an attraction that hasn’t died. As the case unfolds, they have to find a way to work together and maybe risk their hearts. As a very protective alpha male, Chase struggles with the idea that Vivien could be in danger again as the threat to the city escalates.

“I guess you’re right.”
“Always,” Vivien chirped. “The sooner you realize that, the better off we’ll be.”
Chase smirked at her as they made their way to his car. “I’ll make a note of it.”

Live Wire is an engaging thrill ride with plenty of heat as lovers are given a second chance. Caisey Quinn provided a good balance of danger, suspense, and heat as their case takes twists and turns. Ms. Quinn created a family-like group of friends in Chase’s inner circle at the PD and provided a great set-up for the next book in the series. Fans of Jen McLaughlin and Jennifer Ryan will enjoy Live Wire.
