In Santa Wore Leathers by Vonnie Davis, Men have a habit of leaving just when Becca Sinclair begins to depend on them being there for her. After her disastrous divorce, she’s taking out her frustrations by man bashing, writing a blog about her sexy neighbor and his bachelor ways. Becca’s hope is that the popularity of her blog will help launch her career as a reporter for the local newspaper. Her dog Einstein befriends her sexy neighbor SWLguy Dan ‘Wolf’ Wolford and then the fireworks really begin.

“Every man I’ve ever loved has left me.” Twin tears found their way onto her cheeks, their moisture scalding.
“Maybe they weren’t man enough to complete the mission.”

Ex-SEAL Wolf and Becca have some serious chemistry every time they are together. It’s too bad she doesn’t trust him enough to let her guard down. He is a man after all, and as such, will most likely break her heart. Then Becca learns what kind of man Wolf truly is thanks to his family and friends. But will it be enough to make her change her mind about him and give him a chance?

‘Every time she turned around, he was leaving her presents–and she didn’t like it. How could she keep the perpetual scowl on her face if he kept charming her?’

Wolf is an alpha male all the way. And those alpha tendencies perked up the moment he saw sexy-as-hell Becca. He’s focused for so long on taking care of his family since the death of his parents that he hasn’t taken time to live a little himself. But that’s about to change…until Wolf finds out Becca is a reporter. After a bad experience a few years back, he swore to hate all reporters on sight. She soon changes his mind with her sassy attitude and slow acceptance of him infiltrating her life. So with a little help from Einstein the thong stealing dog, Wolf is determined he’ll be able to win Becca’s heart.

“You’re like satin and silk. A man could die touching you…” he trailed the tip of his tongue down the graceful arch of her spine, “…tasting you. But believe me, the dying man would count his life as one well-lived.” He hoped to hell that he was that guy.

Santa Wore Leathers is my kind of Christmas story! You’ve got a sexy alpha male with a generous heart, a sarcastic journalist with a gift for snarky comments, and a friendly German Shepherd with a quirky, but funny, habit. Oh…and lots of Holiday cheer too!

This is the first book I’ve read by Vonnie Davis and I can assure you it won’t be the last. I love her “voice”. I found her writing to be smart and sexy with a perfect, easy pace to it. And considering that this is a short story, that can be a hard thing to accomplish. The dialogue is absolutely hysterical and our protagonists switch smoothly from antagonizing each other to dirty talk that will make you swoon.

“Our first time is going to be in a bed–alone, naked, sweaty and so damn into each other a nuclear blast could melt the roof off this place and we’d never notice.”

I thought it was easy to relate to all of the characters and to become wrapped up in their personal dramas. Becca and Wolf together, though, were absolutely smoking hot, yet still managed to be loving with lots of tender moments. There was so much passion and fire between them that you knew they were meant to be together. If they could only trust each other, that is. I always seem to have a soft spot for the quirkiest characters in a story, and in this one, Mrs Minelli just kept me in stitches with her sassy but wise advice for the young(ish) lovebirds.

If you’re looking for a comical Holiday romance filled with lots of heart and sexy talk–plus a lovable furry critter–I highly recommend reading Santa Wore Leathers.

Take one man-shy reporter, a gorgeous ex-Navy SEAL turned firefighter, add in a thong-stealing dog… and Christmas will never be the same again!

There’s only one thing on Becca Sinclair’s Christmas list this holiday season – her very own column in the local paper. And if she can build a huge blog following, her wish just might come true.

Enter Dan ‘Wolf’ Wolford aka the man-whore next door and the new star of Becca’s popular, post-divorce blog about men. A Navy SEAL turned commander of the Florida Marine Rescue Unit, Wolf’s the very definition of the word alpha – and with an endless rotation of women on his doorstep, this hunk on a Harley has Becca and her female followers all hot and bothered!

All Becca wants for Christmas is her newspaper column, right? But when she finds herself the target of Wolf’s irresistible attentions, her snarky comebacks become less and less convincing and, suddenly, she’s not so sure anymore…

Ooh, I love Vonnie Davis books! I read her Red Hand Conspiracy series, Mona Lisa’s Room (book 1) and Rain is a Love Song (book 2), on my Kindle, but they are now on my list to buy in print. They are so great!

Santa Wore Leathers also sounds like a fun read. I love christmas books and books with alpha males, so I’ll definitely have to put this on my list. 😉

    Thank you for the review!

Sara, thank you for taking the time to read SANTA WORE LEATHERS and to write such an in-depth review. I’m thrilled you enjoyed Wolf and Becca’s story. Writing their journey to HEA was a real joy. As I often tell people…I’m a romance writer and I love my job.
