A Baby Scandal in Italy by Chantelle Shaw is a beautiful marriage of convenience/surprise baby story which grabbed my attention from page one.

Vibrant Ivy crashes into Rafa’s life in the most unexpected way. Rafa leads quite an open life, full of variety, but he’s pretty sure he’d remember Ivy. There is no way the baby she is holding is his. More shocks and surprises are in store when Ivy confesses she’s actually the baby’s Aunty but holds fast in her accusations of Rafa being the baby’s Father. So how does Rafa’s DNA test come back as positive when he wasn’t anywhere near the city Ivy’s sister reportedly met him?

An awesome story which throws in some great twists and turns. While Rafa and Ivy solve the above mystery they fall in love. Two complete strangers, unlikely to pair nicely when their individual personalities cause sparks to fly left right and centre. With a baby coming out of the woodwork causing a terrible scandal Rafa offers a proposition to Ivy. But when the trash media keeps reporting information that only Ivy would know Rafa is incensed.

Ivy has to give up her job to look after little Bertie and is caught in a rock and a hard place staying with Rafa. She’s grateful Rafa is starting to step up but can’t believe he still vehemently denies he’s the father. She’s crushed when he keeps accusing her of something she hasn’t done but despite all that is going on in their crazy lives, Ivy and Rafa grow closer. But Ivy is torn, how is it ok to have feelings for someone her sister did?

I really enjoyed A Baby Scandal in Italy. I thought the author threw in some great surprises and hooks. I liked how Ivy and Rafa grew closer despite every obstacle being thrown at them. Another very enjoyable story by the talented Chantelle Shaw.
