In A Baby to save their Marriage (Tycoons in a Million #2) by Scarlet Wilson , A Baby to Save Their MarriageAddison Conner has some big decisions to make, especially now that she has a baby on the way. So, during a vacation with her husband and their wonderful son, she’s determined to see if her marriage is still salvageable. But if she can’t convince her husband, Caleb, that family is more important than business, then all hope is lost. No way can she can tell him the happy news of her pregnancy until she’s certain about their future as a couple.

=A wave of guilt washed over him. “Maybe we could wait, maybe we could go somewhere later in the year?”
Addison picked up the notepad she’d been writing on next to the phone. She sighed. “Then it will be another deal, another business. I’m tired of this. Decide what your priorities are. Because I’ve had enough.”
“You’re giving me an ultimatum?”=

What a powerful and emotional read Ms. Wilson has penned, encompassing a married couple on the verge of splitting up if the hero doesn’t get his priorities straight. Is his business more important than his family? Or is his family more important than his business? I really liked how this story started with the heroine’s ultimatum and then her being delivered some shocking news concerning her baby. What is she going to do? How is she supposed to deal with the news when she’s going on vacation for a month? Will she keep the baby? How will she be able to keep her pregnancy a secret from her husband when she’s worried by the news?

There were some light-hearted moments in the dialogue that made me smile. Their kid, Tristan, is just adorable and I loved the interactions between him and Caleb. He’s a good father that just needs a chance to realize how much his family means to him. That needs to realize that he can’t lose Addison and his son because he loves them so much. His emotions and reactions definitely prove how much he loves them both. However, the dialogue was also intense due to the heroine’s ultimatum, and the news about the baby that shocks the heroine. The heroine’s ultimatum leaves the hero reeling in disbelief, as Addison has never seemed unhappy in their marriage. At least not that he’s noticed.

She tapped her camera. “I think I have all the blackmail material that I’ll need.”
Caleb groaned. “How much is this going to cost me?”
She shrugged. “Maybe another piece of cake. There was a chocolate one I’ve got my eye on.”

I really liked both the main characters. They have such wonderful chemistry, so it’s a shame that they’ve drifted apart over the past few years. I could understand Caleb’s need to work like he does because he wants to take care of his family and make sure he provides them with a great life. Yet, I felt sorry for both him and his son because he was missing out on his son’s best years.

Addison is strong, brave and tenacious. She needs to know if her husband can see that his family needs him more than his work. That he has competent people that can step up and do the work that he does. Because really, she needs him more than work does. Not just for herself, but for their future baby since she had a difficult time after having their little boy. How will she cope without Caleb by her side, if he can’t get his priorities straight? It’s a hard question for her to face.

While Caleb, his obsession with work at the beginning frustrated me, and it definitely illustrated that he needed the vacation they were taking. He couldn’t keep ignoring the two most important people in his world, and not expect his wife to not get upset. If he could keep ignoring them, then he didn’t deserve them in his life. Then there’s the fact that he can sense Addison is keeping something from him. What could it be? Would she ever reveal her secret? What surprised me is that once the heroine did reveal what she was hiding, is the fact that the hero didn’t even suspect that reason.

Overall, Ms. Wilson has penned a sweet romance filled with warm and relatable characters that I cheered for all the way, because Addison and Caleb were so right for each other. The way Ms. Wilson wrapped up this story was endearing, as Caleb proved how much his family means to him. That he wasn’t about to let Addison go without a fight, especially when a serious consequence of her pregnancy arises that knocks him for six because he can’t understand why it’s happened. I would recommend A Baby to Save their Marriage by Scarlet Wilson, if you enjoy a story that encompasses a married couple that need to find their way back to each other by realizing that nothing is more important than love and family.
