A Christmas to Remember by Jenny Hale: Carrie loves her job, she loves children and being a nanny, the only problem being she is being to feel like all her friends seem to be moving on with their lives; starting families of their own and settling down, while she is busy helping other people have their best family life. With her resolve set that this will be her last family she nannies for and then she is out to start her own, the thing Carrie did not plan for was falling in love with the Fletcher kids and their workaholic dad Adam. Determined to change Adam’s workaholic ways and help this single dad slow down and appreciate time with his kids, we see Carrie embark on her quest to get Adam to chill a bit all with the help of his visiting family.

A Christmas to Remember follows a very common but enjoyable storyline of single dad falls in love with the nanny all while realising that he needs to spend more time with his kids. Even though this is a well used plot I found that it was enjoyable, if for nothing else than just a fast easy read. There was no major or unnecessary drama, the story flowed pretty fast and straightforward. I will say that I liked that each chapter started out with a quote from the self help books Carrie’s was read; even though these books didn’t do much to help her.

I think there were aspects of Carrie’s character that were relatable and that we have all felt at some time in our lives; like the way she felt that she had lost her direction in life and was unsure what she wanted or if she would ever get her own family. But at the same time I found that her inner thoughts could get a bit jumpy. But overall I really liked Carrie and found that she was a nice caring character. As for Adam, well to be very honest I was not a major fan of his. I just found that Adam lacked substance, he was all work and that was it really. As far as male leads go he fell flat in my opinion. I do have to say I did really like Walter, Adam’s grandfather, he was just such a cute old man!

This is a heart warming Christmas story of a family coming together and a new one being formed. I would definitely recommend reading this cute slow burn Christmas romance.
