A Dirty Business by Tijan: For Trace West seeing the beautiful Jess Montell was like love at first sight. There was just something so incredibly alluring about her that he just could not seem to stay away from her, but staying away from her is exactly what Trace should be doing. You see if ever there were two people more wrong for each other it would be Jess and Trace, not only does Trace want absolutely nothing to do with anything romantic but as the heir to the biggest Mafia family in New York the last person that he should be getting involved with is an offer of law enforcement! This entire situation has trouble written all over it, more trouble than Trace really needs… to bad he just can’t seem to stay away from Jess even when he knows better of it… the question is will these two get burnt from constantly dancing on a fine line of trouble?

Its been a while since I have read a good mafia romance and let me just tell you that this book just hit the spot! I loved the suspense and drama that was laced through this book and the fact that these two could not be more different from one and another was just perfect! A Dirty Business was one of those books that just pulls you right in from the very first chapter and has you hooked all the way through.

“Because when it comes to you, I have absolutely no fucking control over myself.”

Jess was such an amazing character and I loved the fact that she could hold her own regardless of who she had to face. She was such a loyal, strong and independent character that held true to her morals and values. This only made her relationship with Trace all the more difficult. As for our hero, well I think that it would be safe to say that there will always be a certain charm to bad boys and this was our Trace down to a tee. I loved the fact that he was balancing his both his hidden mafia life with his day to day hedge fund manager life. Even though he had so much of power at his disposal he took his time with pursuing Jess and wooing her. I just loved how captivated by her he was and that he went all out to be close to her.

“I wanted her, and for the first time in a long time, I was considering throwing out my rules. For her.”

I just ate up this forbidden romance and the incredible attraction bounced between Jess and Trace. For the majority of the book this was a pretty slow burn read but once things ramped up, gosh did they get hot! I absolutely loved how obsessed Trace was, he was so taken with Jess and just didn’t care that he was playing with fire. Another nice thing about this couple was that they were both battling with their own demons while trying to figure out what they truly wanted opposed to what was expected of them.

The only draw back for me was that it ended on a cliffhanger!! I was so not expecting this and gosh it was a big one! Nevertheless this has only made me all the more eager to find out what happens with Trace and Jess! I could definitely recommend reading A Dirty Business, this book was the perfect steamy mafia suspense read!

When Jess Montell meets Trace West at a hockey game, she doesn’t know his name or occupation. What she does know is there’s an instant attraction that’s impossible to ignore—or forget. And forgetting is exactly what she wants to do when she learns he’s not just a successful Wall Street suit but the heir to one of New York’s biggest Mafia families.

The last thing Trace needs is a romantic anything with law enforcement, and parole officer Jess has trouble written all over her. Too bad he likes trouble. Especially when it’s a brunette bombshell with attitude and legs for days.

She’s an absolute spitfire, and he wants to stoke that flame.

Trace didn’t ask for the Mafia life. Jess doesn’t want any part of it. They both know it’s safer to stay away, but the temptation is too hard to resist—no matter how great the danger.
