A Line in the Sand by Teri Wilson: Molly Prince loves her job as the resident mermaid at the Turtle Beach Aquarium, with the help of her cute Spaniel pup Ursula, the two have become some what of celebrities in Turtle Beach especially after Molly saves town new comer Max from a near drowning experience. Now one would think this would set these two up for one cute friendship at the very least, but it would seem that the no nonsense scientist Max Miller is all about the facts and bring his uncles aquarium and turtle rehabilitation centre back to its former glory and a scientifically inaccurate mermaid has absolutely no place in his vision.

However it would seem that fate and the ever playful Ursula have other plans about Max and Molly keeping their distance from each other especially with Ursula’s love for digging up the beach in front of Max’s house much to his dismay. But with the aquarium in need of a cash boost Max has little to no choice but to accept the help of Molly in all of her mermaid glory. Soon the two realise that they just might have a furry secret weapon that could help save not only the turtle population but also the aquarium if only they can finally work out their ever complicated relationship…

I can safely say that this was the cutest book that I have read all year! A Line In The Sand checked every single box and then some in creating a silly cute romcom with a twist. I just love a good small town romance and this is exactly what we get once we get into Turtle Beach, and with small towns we are always sure to have a few meddlesome towns folks and this time round we hit the jackpot with a whole town of hilarious oldies ready and willing to meddle.

Molly was such a cute leading lady, I just adored her character and couldn’t help but love her more and more as we got to know her better. Not only was she genuinely a nice person but I loved her passion for the aquarium and wanting to help preserve the turtles. Beneath her happy go lucky exterior our girl Molly has been nursing a bruised and broken heart which is what brought the cute little furry Ursula into her life. I just loved getting to see her interacting with Max and really getting to see her come out of the shell that she has been hiding behind and to a large extent letting go of needing Ursula as her support blanket. I also have to mention that I liked getting to see her relationship with her parents grow as the book progressed and that she finally opened up to them.

“It wasn’t just the aquarium that had saved Max. And it wasn’t Turtle Beach. It was Molly. She’d pulled him out of the ocean when he’d been drowning, and bit by bit, smile by smile, kiss by perfect kiss, she’d kept on saving him. As powerful and constant as the tide.”

Now for our marine biologist Max, well I want to say that I didn’t like the guy because he fired Molly and Ursula but gosh did he make it hard to stay mad at him. I loved the story behind him returning to Turtle Beach and the bond that he had created with his uncle, this entire story was heart melting. I really enjoyed getting to see Max go from this stuck up out of town suit into one of the community and really embracing the beach life. I just loved getting to see his relationship with Molly grow and really getting to see him realise that he needs her help more than he had expected.

I really enjoyed getting to see both Max and Molly grow as individuals but also grow closer as they work together to save the aquarium and the turtles. I will say that this book was pretty low on the romance department but for me this wasn’t a deal breaker, if anything this was a sweet clean read.

One of the best things about this book has to hands down be Ursula and all the town oldies. Good gosh those octogenarian were just hilarious, I loved their wacky seniors yoga, volleyball and their passion for Turtle Beach. They added just the perfect mix of laugh out loud hilarity and drama to make this book the hit that I found it to be. I loved how extra the O.G Charlie’s Angles were with faking health crisis’s all in a scheme to bring Max and Molly together. One of the other things that really stole my heart in this book was the fact that animals played such a huge role in this book. I just loved getting to see so much of the turtles and learning more about seahorses, this just made this book all the more enjoyable for me. However it was Ursula the super playful Spaniel that stole the show for me, I just loved this little ball of fluff and her special gift to sniff out turtle nests. Not only did she save the day but she helped ultimately bring Max and Molly together.

A Line In The Sand is a total must read, this super cute beach side romance will melt your heart as Max, Molly and Ursula find a way to save the Turtle Beach Aquarium.
