A Wife for One Year by Brenda Harlen: Best friends for life, not from birth but from that funny time when guys and 22405802girls have a hard time being friends, high school.

Daniel and Kenna have been through the ringer with many things but neither one of them ever expected to end up here, married to get to his trust fund, granted they entered into a year long marriage that was supposed to be on paper only, but really two healthy attractive young people staying celibate for a year? The only question is will this blow up in their faces? Or will this end in the happiest ending of them all?

Ms. Harlen has returned to the Garrett family in this installment, and while the book is a part of a series it can be read as a stand alone, though you probably will want to go back and read the earlier novels and be waiting for the next in the series.

Ms. Harlen presents a wonderful heartwarming story about two best friends who have to figure out how to make the biggest change in their lives. She allows us to see inside the whys of their decisions, not just the outcomes. Her characters come to life and breathe goodness into the reader as they begin this journey.

If you are looking for some sweet romance, this is definitely a story for you.

Marriage Agreement

Between Daniel Garrett and Kenna Scott

Stay married one year

Fool the family

No sex!

To claim his trust fund and launch a new career, Daniel needs to be married…and no one can tick all the “wifely” boxes like Kenna. And since she’s his best friend, the celibacy part should be a piece of (wedding) cake! Or so Daniel thinks…until he hears the words that make him freeze: “You may kiss your bride.” One official kiss has the former confirmed bachelor reeling…and one unplanned night with his virgin bride has him staggering. Will it be the end of an era for the two best friends, or will a surprise pregnancy make the two become three—for keeps?
