Accidentally Hers by Jamie Beck: Grey Lowell is struggling to keep his Accidentally-Hersbusiness afloat. The last thing he needs is an injury that keeps from taking his customers on the trails, but that’s just what happens when Andy, Avery’s brother, hits him while driving drunk. Being the only one in the clinic who could help him, Avery is reluctant to get involved with Grey, especially when she finds out her best friend has a not-so-secret crush on him.

I liked how Grey did his best to keep his feelings about his possible lawsuit against Avery’s brother out of their relationship. He never wanted to talk about it, instead taking their time together to get to know her. I also liked that once he discovered Avery and Andy shared their home, he tried everything in his power to find a way to recoup the money he needed for his business without hurting Avery. My issue with him, other than him being too impatient about his healing progress, was that he forgave Avery way too quickly towards the end. After what she did, he should have made her work for it a little more.

I wasn’t crazy about Avery. She constantly questioned Grey as to what was going on with the lawsuit, even though she agreed not to talk to him about it. Also, even knowing her best friend had an interest in Grey, she still snuck around to see him. I would have had more respect for her if she stood up and just told her what was going on between them. Also, she flip flopped about her feelings a lot. She knew that Grey needed to file a suit because he was losing money from not being able to run his business and she was okay with that, but then she’d get upset about it in another scene. One minute she was made at her brother, the next she was feeling bad for him. It was too much.

There was some drama with the Avery’s ex-boyfriend which, to be honest, felt more like it was just thrown in there to create tension between Grey and Avery. There was plenty of tension already due to the accident and the pending lawsuit, so it didn’t feel like it was necessary.

Accidentally Hers by Jaime Beck was okay, but not great or memorable. The storyline had promise, but the characters, especially Avery and her ex-boyfriend, dragged it down a bit.

Physical therapist Avery Randall is shocked to learn that Grey’s the man her brother struck with his car, and even more stunned when he arrives at the clinic expecting her help. Despite her reservations and Grey’s silly new nickname for her, Avery agrees to work with him, and passion begins to simmer. Yet with his livelihood at stake, Grey must make tough decisions that could hurt Avery and her family. Before long, Avery’s loyalties are tested, and the choices she and Grey each make may cost them their chance at lasting love

I read this one awhile back and felt the same way. I had been so excited to read an ARC of Jamie Beck’s newest, because I had really enjoyed one of her previous books. Oh well, you can’t win them all.
