Acting the Part by Justine Lewis is a wonderful story of falling in love. Poppy is in need of a lot of money, so she goes to her estranged dad, George and he offers her a job as a PA to Max Madden, movie producer. Max is untrusting of Poppy and plays her to keep her close. Max believes that Poppy is spying for her dad, but yet he’s drawn to her.
“He knew he should pull away; even if she wasn’t a spy, kissing her was still a bad idea. She was still George’s daughter and his employee, but when her body slammed against his as though they were both magnetised, he had no doubt that George Barralet was probably the last thing on her mind.”
Poppy has feelings for Max but Max doesn’t want a relationship. I am not going to tell you anymore about this relationship it would take away the enjoyment out of reading the book.
Acting the Part is about the chase of two people fighting their feelings to fall in love. I loved how Poppy tried to understand that this was just a fling and she kept fighting her feelings. Max and her had so much in common with their families and I think that helped them to connect with each other. It kept me interested with anticipation as to what would happen
