REVIEW: All I Want For Christmas Is You by Miranda Liasson

All I Want For Christmas Is You by Miranda Liasson is the third book in the Angel Falls series. Kaitlyn Barnes has had a crush on her friend, Rafe Langdon, for a long time. When one night leads to a pregnancy, Kaitlyn hopes it’s enough to bring them together permanently. After losing his fiancée in an accident years earlier, Rafe has sworn off giving his heart completely to anyone again. But the more time he spends with Kaitlyn, the more he’s tempted to try, until Kaitlyn faces a scare of her own. Will Rafe be able to put his fears aside and be there for Kaitlyn and his baby?

I enjoyed the book for the most part. The chemistry between Kaitlyn and Rafe is great and I enjoyed their friendship. I did, however, have an issue with Rafe. He has a lot of unresolved guilt over the death of fiancée eight years earlier. It felt like he should have at least tried to deal with his feelings about it, maybe get some therapy. Even his family recognizes his behavior, but they don’t suggest he gets some help, either. Considering he spent most of the book letting guilt rule his behavior, I had a little difficulty buying his sudden turnaround towards the end.

Readers of the series will enjoy getting to see the characters from the previous stories again. Readers will also enjoy the obvious matchmaking attempts of Rafe’s grandmother, which provides a few humorous moments. While this is the third book in the series and Kaitlyn and Rafe were introduced in the previous books, this can be read as a standalone.

If you enjoy small-town romances or accidental pregnancy stories, All I Want For Christmas Is You is a book for you. Filled with humor and characters you can’t help but root for, it’s worth reading.

Publication: October 29, 2019 | Forever | Angel Falls #3

Just when Kaitlyn Barnes vows to get over her longtime crush on Rafe Langdon, they share a sizzling evening that delivers an epic holiday surprise: Kaitlyn is pregnant. And if that weren’t life-changing enough, everyone assumes they’re engaged — a charade they must keep alive through the holiday season. But Kaitlyn knows Rafe better than anyone, and Rafe settling down is about as likely as Santa skipping Angel Falls this year…

Rafe would rather Kaitlyn believe a lie — that their night together was a fling — than face his own dangerous truth: he’s falling for her, hard. After a devastating loss, Rafe swore he’d never risk his heart again. Yet the longer they pretend to be engaged the more Rafe starts to want the real thing. But now he has to convince Kaitlyn he wants to be by her side — and their baby’s — for all the Christmases to come.

I had some of the same feelings about Rafe. He needed some serious therapy.
