An Impossible Thing Called Love by Belinda Missen: Emily loves to travel and creates bucket lists of all the places she wants to see. She loves medicine and enjoys volunteering to perform first aid at events. She’s not sure what she’ll do for a career, so a trip to explore Europe with her two best friends is well-timed. Meeting William seems like fate as they quickly bond over their experiences and love of medicine.

William is on the path to become a doctor and loves history. He’s sexy, charming, and funny. He enjoys showing Emmy all the sights and showing her out-of-the-way places instead of just the typical tourist hot spots. Emmy doesn’t actually want to return to Australia, but they exchange contact info.

“This is me, I guess.” I reached for my backpack, our hands grazing at the switchcover.
“Go on and leave me, then,” he joked. “Go.”
“Do you think we’ll meet again?” I asked, wondering if this would be it. How often could you say you meet the same person three different times? How often does lightning strike the same spot? “We will, won’t we?”

From simply checking in to becoming pen pals, Emmy is convinced they are more than friends until he suddenly stops responding. Emmy, while confused and hurt, has to resign herself to never knowing what happened. At least she has a new friend from college to help distract her. Emmy loved her travels and she’s thrilled to have found a new job and moving to London.

Emmy loves her new city, job, and co-workers, but is completely surprised to learn William is one of her new co-workers. Seeing each other again brings back so many feelings for both of them. Trying to rebuild their friendship comes more naturally than expected and they bond over their love of off the beaten path finds.

“Your second Saturday here and you have zero plans?”
“Well, everyone is at work, so…” My voice drifted.
“Right.” He stood a little straighter. “Give me your death list.”
“My what?”
“That death list you made.” He waved a hurried hand. “Come on.”

An Impossible Thing Called Love is an entertaining second chance romance. Belinda Missen brought to life the locations and experiences of the characters. Fans of Teri Osburn and Sandy James will enjoy An Impossible Thing Called Love.
