Anyone But Rich by Penelope Bloom: Kira and her best friends are shocked and unhappy to hear that the King brothers are coming back to town. Their run-ins with the brothers from high school marked each of them, tested their friendship, and resulted in a promise to never, ever date a King brother from that point forward. Seven years later, they re-swear that they will stay far, far away from all of the Kings.

Kira is independent, feisty, and works for everything she has. She may be the mayor’s daughter, but she refuses to rely on her dad’s position for anything and prefers to stay away from politics. She’s smart, funny, and loyal. Rich seemingly has everything. He’s handsome, sexy, charming, and grew up wealthy. He had all the advantages in life and went on to start a successful business with his two brothers. He can have any woman he wants, but he can’t forget Kira and what he did to her.

Rich is only focused on two things: get the new headquarters built and finally apologize to Kira. Well, Kira is not exactly accommodating or happy to see him and she doesn’t hold back. Kira challenges him and makes him work for her time, attention, and the chance for him to get into her good graces.

It had been so long since I’d spoken to someone who wasn’t trying to kiss my ass. Trying to keep up with her made me feel like I was using a long-neglected corner of my brain. “Fair point. The answer is I don’t know. Maybe it’s the way I’m wired.”
“Then maybe you can understand why I have no interest in accepting your half-assed apology. It’s just a game to you. One more contest you want to win.”

Rich is nothing if not persistent. He’s used to getting what he wants and he uses a variety of methods to win Kira over. He tries to show that he’s a different person now and more mature despite his unique situation. Rich and Kira quickly become the talk of their small town and there is a lot of pressure on both of them. Forgiving Rich might be easier than anticipated with the chemistry that pulls them together.

“You don’t think that was enough of a surprise for today?” I asked.
“Maybe you should sit down for this part,” he said.
I frowned. “What? Why don’t I like the sound of this already?”
“Because it’s going to sound like a really dumb, bad idea at first. But you need to hear me out.”

Anyone But Rich funny and sexy. Penelope Bloom created conflict, tension, anticipation, banter, romance, and family drama. Ms. Bloom developed an interesting cast of characters who should be fun to follow through this series. Fans of Meghan Quinn and Jill Sanders will enjoy Anyone But Rich.

Publication: Expected publication: September 3rd 2019 | Montlake Romance | Anyone But… #1

From USA Today bestselling author Penelope Bloom comes the first novel in the romantic, sexy, and hilarious Anyone But… series.

Seven years ago, my best friends and I made a promise: No matter what, we would never date one of the King brothers. Even if they grew up to become megafamous, gorgeous, heart-stopping billionaires. Even if they crawled on their knees and begged for forgiveness.

But guess who just flew back into our lives in a private jet? And guess who just showed up to my job on my first day? Richard. King. Fortunately, it takes two seconds for Richard to reveal he hasn’t changed. Conceited. Cocky. Rude. Unfortunately, he’s also the kind of gorgeous that’s borderline offensive—with a jawline to make statues self-conscious and a grin that short-circuits my brain.

He’s spent years taking what he wants. I doubt he’s hungry for anything else—except me, apparently. There’s no way I’ll let him maneuver his way back into my life. My friends would never forgive me. I would never forgive me. But did I mention his jawline?
