Bad for You by Taylor Holloway: Aimee hated her teen years. As if moving to a new town wasn’t bad enough, she was shy and a genius which meant going to school with kids much older than her. It didn’t help that the boy she crushed on was leading the charge in bullying her and making her more miserable than ever. Those experiences pushed and motivated her to become the brilliant doctor she’s become.

Brandon was a rebel and acted out as a teen. He was the bad boy all the girls wanted and he left as soon as he could. The bad boy is all grown up and he’s now a decorated doctor in the military. He loves his job and saving lives, so the transfer to work at the hospital run by his estranged dad is the last thing he wants.

Both Brandon and Aimee are shocked to run into each other. Aimee still has a burning hatred for Brandon and what he did to her, while Brandon is surprised by just how well Aimee has grown up. He resents be forced back to Texas and working for his dad, but being around Aimee again might make it worth it. He’s determined to reconnect while she’s determined to avoid him at all costs.

“What do you want, Dr. Koels?” she asked. Her tone was guarded.
“Do you want to grab coffee soon?” I asked.
She blinked at me in shock and then that big, bleak wall of emotionlessness descended again. “No. No, Brandon, I do not.” She shook her head at me.

Brandon may be abrasive, short-tempered, and rude, but he’s definitely good at his job. He only wants to get to know Aimee and the new chemistry he doesn’t want to ignore. Aimee just wants to do her job and ignore Brandon, but he doesn’t make that easy. She’s still attracted to him, but she does start to see other sides of a more mature Brandon that are harder to ignore. Convincing Aimee to give him and them a shot will take all the patience, persistence, and charm he’s got.

“Just one more,” I told him. “Why did you blackmail me into going to lunch with you?”
“I’ll answer that at our next lunch. On Wednesday.” I rolled my eyes and he grinned at me. “That way I know you’ll actually show up.”

Bad For You is a sexy and combative enemies-to-lovers romance. Taylor Holloway provided banter, heat, conflict, angst, and surprises. Ms. Holloway developed an entertaining cast of characters. Bad For You can be read as a standalone in the Lone Star Lovers series. Fans of Kylie King and Lucy Parker will enjoy Bad For You.

The boy next door.

Star of my teenage fantasies.

My tormentor.

After serving as an army doctor in some of the most dangerous places on Earth, Brandon has finally come home. And he’s brought his cocky, alpha attitude and rugged good looks with him. To my hospital. He’s still a loose cannon and I’m right in his sights.

But instead of begging for him to stop, this good girl is having to stop herself from begging for more.

I thought I put my obsession with this moody bad boy to bed.

It now appears that’s right where he wants me.

I’ve always made good choices.

But this time I’m worried I’ll pick the one that’s bad for me, even if Brandon feels oh so right.
