Boss Witch by Ann Aguirre: There is a witch hunter in town and by God Clementine Waterhouse is not going to let him figure out the Waterhouse family secret. So of course what better way for a witch to get rid of a witch hunter than to date him, right? Clem and her cousin Danica run a cute little techno repair shop called Fix-It Witches, where they use their magical abilities to mend broken tech and appliances but when Danica finds herself falling hopelessly in love, her magic seems to go haywire attracting the attention of witch hunter Gavin Rhys. Which is how Clem finds herself volunteering to distract the Gavin long enough so that he no longer suspects that there are any real witches in town, however the last thing Clem could have prepared for is to develop feeling for the very last man that she should… can a witch and witch hunter really have a happily ever after?
Boss Witch picks up right where Witch Please stoped, thankfully we are not kept in suspense for too long as we jump right into Clem’s crazy plan to distract Gavin. I think I can safely say that I enjoyed this book far more than the first, in Witch Please we didn’t really get to see very much magic or drama, however in Boss Witch Aguirre amps up the magic and packs in a fun drama filled read!
I just loved our supposed bad guy Gavin, gosh does this guy come with an interesting back story. As the son of the end of the witch hunters organisation Gavin has played the role of obedient solider all his life but now that he is so far away from his father he can’t help but wonder if there is away for him to get out of the witch hunting business. You see Gavin has absolutely no desire to hunt witches, all he really wants is a family and a sense of belonging, little did he know that he would find just that with Clementine, a witch. Clem was such a powerhouse, I just loved her whole attitude and determination. This time round we get to know a bit more about who Clem really is and the relationship that she has with the rest of the coven. She is a born problem solver even of it means that she has to put herself in danger. I loved the way she played her part as the honey pot but landed up falling for her mark.
The dynamic between Clem and Gavin played out very naturally with loads of chemistry and sexual tension. I will say that the fact that both of them were looking for something to complete themselves helped bring them together. I loved getting to see them together even though their relationship started off as fake it slowly developed into one that was very real. I just loved their connection and that they both filled a void in each other.
I just loved getting to see the rest of the coven again and getting to see Danica so happy and in love. However my favourite secondary character in this book has to go to Benson the magical mouse. As far as familiars go he was pretty legendary, this guy had just the right answer to any possible problem all while being super cute!
Boss Witch was a magical book that I would recommend reading. I would suggest reading Witch Please first as you are going to need the back story to fully enjoy this book.

ide-or-die female friendships
A bisexual heroine who stubbornly refuses to accept help
A hero with an incredibly pesky moral conscience
A mouse named Benson who may or may not have all the answers to life, magic, and love (Spoiler: he does!)
Clementine Waterhouse is a perfectly logical witch. She doesn’t tumble headlong into love. Rather she weighs the pros and cons and decides if a relationship is worth pursuing. At least that’s always been her modus operandi before. Clem prefers being the one in charge, always the first to walk away when the time is right. Attraction has never struck her like lightning.
Until the witch hunter comes to town.
Gavin Rhys hates being a witch hunter, but his family honor is on the line, and he needs to prove he’s nothing like his grandfather, a traitor who let everyone down. But things in St. Claire aren’t what they seem, and Gavin is distracted from the job immediately by a bewitching brunette with a sexy smile and haunting secrets in her eyes.
Can the bossiest witch in town find a happy ending with the last person she should ever love?

Graet review. I loved this one!
