Bruised by Stacy Gail: Dallas isn’t exactly thrilled to be back in her hometown of Bitterthorn. She finally had a job she loved until Killian unceremoniously kidnapped her and brought her home. She’s savvy, sassy, independent, and knows how to take care of herself. She had a tough childhood but she’s loved her younger brother Des unconditionally despite growing up apart.

Killian is the oldest of the Brody brothers. They run a very successful ranch and they would do just about anything to help each other. Killian is a tall, sexy, alpha cowboy. He knows what he wants and he does what he needs to make things happen. Family means everything to him, and he’s definitely overprotective of those he cares about.

Dallas and Killian are predisposed to hate each other after their parents had an affair with each other that forever altered their respective families and childhoods. It doesn’t help that Killian kidnaps Dallas and does everything in his power to keep her in Bitterthorn while waiting for their mutual half-brother Des to recover from injuries.

“More than anything, I want my brother to live, and if that means yanking you out of your life and using you for spare parts, then God help me, as horrible as that sounds, that’s exactly what I’ll do. I don’t even expect forgiveness for that, so I won’t bother asking for it. All that matters to me is keeping Des alive.”

Killian slowly wakes up to the fact that Dallas isn’t her mom and just might be trustworthy. They bicker and trade barbs which turn into banter as they get to understand each other and find it harder to fight the pull between them. They have more in common than either could expect. Dallas isn’t afraid to tell Killian when he’s wrong and Killian shows how thoughtful he can be once he gets over himself.

“Trust me, when you went through the sugar-and-spice step in your development, sugar got a skip. You wound up with a double dose of spice instead, but I’m not complaining,” he added when she considered breaking her tray over his head. “Nothing like a little spice to liven things up.”
“You know what would really spice things up?” she muttered, gripping her tray so hard her fingers hurt. “You, leaving. That would be enough spice to make my day.”

Bruised is entertaining, funny, heartbreaking, and sexy. Stacy Gail navigates a complicated history and connection with humor, heat, banter, romance, and surprises. Ms. Gail developed a great cast of characters in the alpha Brody brothers and the feisty women they fall for. Bruised can be read as a standalone in this series. Fans of Harper Sloan and Jessica Clare will enjoy Bruised.

“You’re coming with me.”

When Killian Brody showed up at Dallas Faircloth’s work with news that her half-brother might die without her help, she never expected the oldest and sexiest Brody to kidnap her to ensure her cooperation.

The scandalous affair between Dallas’s mother and Killian’s father made everything inside Dallas revolt at the Brody name. It was because of a Brody her life had been left in ruins at the age of eight, and she’d had to rebuild all on her own. She hated the Brodys. Which was too bad, really. Killian Brody was take-charge, arrogant and so damn sexy she would have climbed him like a tree if it weren’t for that last name of his.

Her weak-willed mother had proven to her that the men in the Brody family were as addictive as any drug, and Dallas didn’t want to get hooked. But when Killian turns his sights on her and makes her believe she’s his greatest weakness, she has a choice—play it safe, or dive in headfirst and risk falling in love with a Brody man.
