Call Me Anytime by Max Monroe: Hannah is desperate. Bills are piling up, life feels stuck and caring for her mum means she’ll do just about anything to keep them afloat…even accept a job she definitely didn’t read the description for properly. One shift in she realizes she’s working for a phone-sex hotline… something she is wildly under qualified for. Cue her new late night caller Dominic, Dom isn’t looking for distraction, he is on a mission. As a detective chasing a dangerous case, he’s focused on answers… well that is until one unexpected call changes everything. What begins as a voice in the dark quickly becomes something deeper, something real and something neither of them can ignore. But when secrets begin to surface and danger edges closer Hannah and Dominic are forced to confront who they are, what they want and whether a connection that started anonymously can survive the truth…

Right from the very first page Call Me Anytime had me completely hooked. I loved every single moment of getting lost in the Max Monroe magic. With their signature blend of heart, humour and just the right amount of chaos, the romcom duo take us on a wild, hilarious and utterly addictive ride as their new leading couple try to navigate love, life and danger. Simply put this book was everything I hoped for in a romantic comedy with a twist of danger.

I just loved both of our two main characters. True to their signature style Max Monroe crafts two characters that fit together in a way that just makes sense. With our leading lady Hannah, well she was messy, brave, painfully real and impossible not to root for. Getting to follow her as she juggled responsibility, fear and unexpected choices with a strength she doesn’t always realise she has only made her character that much easier to love and root on. One of the things that I loved about her was the fact that her vulnerability never feels weak, instead it’s layered with determination, humour and a quiet resilience that makes her growth so satisfying to watch. Our hero Dominic on the other hand is steady, protective and emotionally grounded without tipping into to much of a cliché. Though as the book progresses and we get to know Dominic better we see that beneath the detective badge is a man driven by loyalty and integrity, a man who listens as much as he leads. Together these two just balance each other perfectly, we get to see her chaos meeting his calm and creating a dynamic that feels authentic, tender and deeply compelling.

As with all of their book Max Monroe has a knack for crafting characters that will worm their way into your heart with their unconventional love story and that was very much the case as we get to see Dominic and Hannah finding their way to each other. Their romance starts in the most unconventional way, yet it never feels gimmicky because it’s built on honesty, vulnerability, and an emotional pull that deepens with every interaction. I loved the fact that Dominic doesn’t try to fix or reshape Hannah, instead he supports her, respects her and gives her the space to find her confidence on her own. Hannah in turn brings light, humour and heart into Dominic’s structured world, challenging him to open up and take emotional risks. Their chemistry is electric but it’s the trust, mutual respect and quiet moments of understanding that elevate their romance from simply steamy to truly meaningful.

At the end of the day Call Me Anytime was everything I have come to expect and love about reading a Max Monroe book, it was bold, funny, heartfelt and completely addictive. The romance duo have once again delivered magic on paper, this book had me invested from start to end, salivating for more of the sweet, laugh out loud moments between Dominic and Hannah. This is a definite must read, no questions asked!

Down and almost out in Nashville, Hannah May takes a job at what she thinks is a telemarketing company. To her shock, it’s a phone sex hotline. Unfortunately, the only role-playing Hannah can do with conviction is as a cash-strapped twenty-five-year-old virgin caring for a mother with Alzheimer’s. If only her callers were into that fantasy. Instead, one of them is looking for a killer.

Detective Dominic Dunn is investigating the murder of another hotline operator when Hannah’s endearing awkwardness, quirky charm, and fierce devotion to her mother crack his professional facade. Despite the circumstances, their connection is instant and electric. For the first time in years, Hannah finds herself living instead of just surviving—even if that means playing amateur sleuth between awkward attempts at phone seduction.

But as their relationship deepens and the investigation intensifies, Dominic’s protective instincts go into overdrive. With every call Hannah takes, she gets closer to both love and danger.

Because somewhere in Nashville, on the other end of her line, a killer is waiting.
