REVIEW: Christmas with the Billionaire Rancher by Mandy Baxter

Christmas with the Billionaire Rancher by Mandy Baxter: With the death of his father and subsequent inheritance, Nate wants nothing to do with his father’s billions. A rocky relationship with his dad and hatred of gold diggers forces Nate to keep his guard up against everyone. But then comes along Chloe. A woman who seems to want nothing but him, and a woman he can’t resist.

Except, Chloe needs his money to keep her charity running. Hearing that Nate intends to give away his new fortune, her plan was to ask him to donate it to her charity. But as they fall deeper and deeper into their passion, Chloe feels worse and worse about her original plan.

Will they be able to make a go of it once Nate discovers her original intentions? And will Chloe be able to keep her charity running?

I definitely enjoyed Christmas with the Billionaire Rancher. As a novella, obviously there is only so much space to develop a story, and Baxter kept it short and sexy.

I’ll admit, I love the billionaire trope as cheesy as it often is. But I really like how Nate didn’t want it, and how Chloe did. Usually the billionaire is suave and wanting to give the girl all the riches even as she refuses, but the usual trope was switched in Baxter’s story. Especially because Chloe needed it for a truly good cause.

Although their main interaction was sex, there is definitely a sweetness to the two that made me root for their relationship. And I especially liked how Baxter included in these small plot developments, such as the conflict between Nate and his father, which helped to round out the characters and story. For any reader looking for a short romance, I recommend Christmas with the Billionaire Rancher.
