Confessions of His Christmas Housekeeper by Sharon Kendrick will melt the heart of any Christmas grinch.
The last thing in the world Louise wants to do is spend her Christmas helping her ex husband regain his memory. Dredging up painful memories from their short marriage and filling in the gaps only helps catapult Louise’s heart back to life. Suffering from amnesia after a terrible accident that leaves Giacomo with a gap in his memory and he feels it in his bones the missing link is Louise. Inviting Louise home as his wife isn’t acceptable to Louise, but she is willing to return as his housekeeper for three days.
I really enjoyed Confessions of His Christmas Housekeeper. Not a reconciliation story, more an exploratory re-visit back to Louise and Giacomo’s short lived marriage. The good times and the bad times and the ultimate cause for their separation. Interspersed beautifully over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with the spirit of Christmas weaving its way through the pages. The home is beautifully decorated and Louise is a wonderful cook and puts her heart into the food she prepares for Giacomo. The snow softly falls and the fires burn; in more ways than one.
Both Louise and Giacomo are very likeable characters. In true Sharon Kendrick style both are passionate people. The feelings are felt and Louise is brave and internally beautiful. Emotions are beautifully described. Giacomo is a brilliantly powerful Hero and it’s from very early on in the piece I was wanting them to find their happy ever after together.
Is three days enough to help Giacomo and how far is he wanting to delve and how much is Louise willing to confess?
A wonderful Christmas reunion with Christmas weaved subtly through out. I really enjoyed it.
