Dirty (Dive Bar #1) by Kylie Scott is the first book in a new dirtyseries by this amazing author. It follows characters from a previous series, but with that said, I have not read the other series, and this book is a super amazing way to kick off what is going to be a killer series. This is the story of Vaughn and Lydia.

What is the worst thing that could possible happen to you moments before you are about to walk down the aisle and marry the man of your dreams? Ok, now hold that thought because it could not be worse than what happened when Lydia Green picked up her cell phone and found a very graphic video of her soon to be husband screwing he best friend and the best man!

SHOCK!!!!!! Needing nothing more than to escape, after all he can be the one that explains why she is a runaway bride, Lydia climbs the neighbors fence (in a wedding dress), squeezes though his open bathroom window (still in the wedding dress) and hides out in his bathtub. Things go from bad to worse when said neighbor steps into the bathroom naked as the day he was born and turns on the water. Lydia is expecting to be arrested for breaking and entering, what she did not expect is to find that the sexy stranger is willing to give her a place to lay low, to be accepted by his family and friends, and to have such white hot feelings for this man only moment after running away from her groom.

Vaughan Hewson is shocked and bewildered to find a soaking wet runaway bride curled up in his tub. Only having returned to his childhood home, he is just passing through and biding his time until he can get his sister to purchase the house from him so that he can get back out on the road and do what he loves, playing Rock and Roll. Vaughan had made a name for himself as lead guitar player in a rock band, until they decided to split and go their separate ways. Now looking to start another band, looking for the right people to make the band work, he has a little time on his hands. So why not help his sister with her bar, Dive, and spend sometime with Lydia in the process.

But as things begin to heat up between Vaughan and Lydia, things begin to change for each of them. Lydia is not so sure she really wants to leave this sleepy little town, and Vaughan knows that he is not meant to stay. Can these two find a way to meet in the middle, or are they doomed to apart.

This book had it all. It has humor, I mean come on, finding out via video that your soon to be hubby is gay and screwing the best man. Then there was Lydia punching him in the face and breaking his nose! YEAH, you go girl. This book has sweetness, Vaughan at the music store teaching the kids the notes and cords on the guitar, the way that he offers to help Lydia, giving her a place to stay, offering to be her knight in shinning armor. There is a HOT connection between Vaughan and Lydia that could not be denied. Yes, they are only together for a couple of weeks, but if felt like each of them knew the other forever. I have to say that the HEA made me a little misty eyed because it was just so sweet.

I have not read the previous series, but I think I want to go back and grab it because this one is off the charts.

The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that comes with her.

Lydia Green doesn’t know whether to burn down the church or sit and cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it’s with his best man is another thing all together. She narrowly escapes tying the knot and meets Vaughan only hours later.

Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessman she thought she’d marry. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and unsettled. But she already tried Mr. Right and discovered he’s all wrong-maybe it’s time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.

After all, what’s wrong with getting dirty?

The Stage Dive series is fantastic, especially the drummer Mal, who is like a big golden retriever bouncing around all over the place with absolutely no filter on what he says. I definitely recommend it and I can’t wait to read the new series.
