Dirty Thoughts by Megan Erickson: Ten years ago, Cal and Jenna’s hearts were broken when they were forced to dirty-thoughts-megan-ericksonbreak up because of Jenna’s family’s prejudice towards Cal for being from “the other side of the tracks.” Now, they’re given a second chance, but only enough if they’re brave enough to take it.

“His eyes traveled up those bare legs to a tiny pair of denim shorts, up a tight tank top that showed copious amount of cleavage, and then to that face that he’d never, ever forget as long as he lived.

He never thought he’d see Jenna MacMillan again. And now, there she was, standing in front of his garage next to a Dodge Charger, her brunette hair in a wavy mass around her shoulders.

Fuck

Cal is stuck in a rut. After having essentially raised his younger brothers, he wants no more responsibility, no people to take care of, feeling as though he has nothing left to give. But when Jenna comes back into his life, his long ago hopes of marriage and family come roaring back, built even stronger when a half-brother he never knew about appears on his doorstep.

Back in town, Jenna wants the whole deal, a family and kids. And she wants Cal and all his honesty to be a part of that family, but only if he’s willing to go the distance. Helping out with his half-brother, she becomes rooted in his life, and just maybe he’s ready to open himself up again.

I really enjoyed Dirty Thoughts. Cal’s lines are some of the best I’ve ever read from a hero. I swooned and I swooned hard at the words that rough and tumble hero came up with, and I definitely want to be told some of the things Cal said to Jenna. What they have in this is an epic love that I don’t get to see in nearly enough stories.

But, their epic love was so epic that it wasn’t all that understandable why they weren’t together. It was a slow build, them getting together, and if they weren’t so utterly perfect I would have loved it. But they were perfect, so often I was left more annoyed by Cal’s fears than accepting.

For any reader, I recommend Dirty Thoughts. I couldn’t put the book down, and I absolutely can’t wait for his brother’s story. Cal has the best, and silliest, siblings imaginable and I loved seeing a piece of their family.

Some things are sexier the second time around.

Cal Payton has gruff and grumbly down to an art…all the better for keeping people away. And it usually works. Until Jenna MacMillan-his biggest mistake—walks into Payton and Sons mechanic shop all grown up, looking like sunshine, and inspiring more than a few dirty thoughts.

Jenna was sure she was long over the boy she’d once loved with reckless abandon, but one look at the steel-eyed Cal Payton has her falling apart all over again. Ten years may have passed, but the pull is stronger than ever… and this Cal is all man.

Cal may have no intention of letting Jenna in, but she’s always been his light, and it’s getting harder to stay all alone in the dark. When a surprise from the past changes everything, Cal and Jenna must decide if their connection should be left alone or if it’s exactly what they need for the future of their dreams.

I am currently reading this one and just love it. And I totally agree about the brothers, they are all so easy going and I love the bantering between them, and the step brother is so adorable.
