REVIEW: Emerald Mistress by Lynne Graham

Emerald Mistress by Lynne Graham was previously published as Ballyflynn (in USA) in 2007. It has since been Emerald-Mistressre-issued under its M&B UK title.

After Harriet Carmichael’s world comes crashing down, an unexpected legacy of a cottage and stables in an Irish village proves to be her gateway for a fresh start .But her new beginnings are soon hreatened by Rafael Cavaliere: her new neighbour and the very man who cost Harriet her job! With her heart so recently burned she’s reluctant to become another notch on his bedpost, but when passion ensnares them both, deep secrets are revealed, ones that could change their lives forever.

Emerald Mistress by Lynne Graham was a well written enjoyable romance with likable characters. Harriet is a strong heroine who decides to make a fresh start far away from her home in London after she loses everything. She has been burned before and that too very recently when Rafe comes to her life. Rafe is a ruthless, alpha hero who to my delight I loved despite his arrogance. I found him sexy, confident and charming.

The sub plots wound up nicely in the end and the conflict is also very well portrayed. The romance is passionate and the character’s chemistry makes it even more enjoyable. I just found it to be little slow at first but the story picked the pace after the first few chapters. Overall, an enjoyable read.

Thanks for the review, Ipshita. It’s interesting that Harlequin is re-releasing this book since it was initially from 2007. I wonder how much was changed from the original version.
