English Lord on Her Doorstep by Marion Lennox; Trust is not something that comes easy once you’ve been burned… and burned, and burned.

Charlotte, Charlie, Foster knew that to be the case. It was also the reason that she was where she was and alone in trying to figure it out. Not only had she been burned, badly, but just when she thought she was ready to see the light again her Grandma got burned. When would her family stop getting burned? Would Charlie ever be able to just trust again?

Bryn Thomas Morgan was sick to death of what was happening thanks to his uncle. Ruining their own family was one thing, but to keep ruining other families and other peoples lives? That was too much. He couldn’t clean up everything though, and he had to accept that, but one thing his uncle did teach him by default, was to clean up after himself. Which is how he found himself here, alone, with her.

Thanks to a runaway dog and a dreadful storm Bryn and Charlie find themselves stuck together with very few options. Can they learn to tell each other the full truth and trust each other? Or will they realize even the slightest hidden secret will tumble a foundation.

Ms. Lennox has given her readers a trust book, yes it’s a romance and yes there is a HEA but this is more about learning to trust after being burned. Learning to love yourself, trust yourself and really become whole. The ability that she has to show us this through her story, but relatable enough to get into your head is a true talent. While I wouldn’t classify this as a great romance, I would classify this as a classic and as something someone with trust issues should read.
