Fake-ish by Winter Renshaw: When Briar agreed to play the role of her boss’s fake fiancee for eight weeks it was supposed to be an easy way for her to make a neat one million dollars while killing time until she finally meets up with her island hottie Dorian. The last thing Briar could have ever expected was to learn that she is about to spend the next eight weeks pretending to be the fiancee to the brother of the guy that she actually has feelings for…talk about an awkward family reunion especially seeing as Briar has signed an NDA and now she has no way of explaining to Dorian that she actually has been waiting for him like they had planned…
I just loved the entire idea behind Fake-ish, it was super easy to get lost in Dorian, Briar and Burkes story. Firstly I just loved the entire two brothers trying for one girl trope and I had secretly hoped that just maybe Burke would have fallen for Briar as the book progressed but thankfully Renshaw had other plans for our leading lady Briar. Another thing that I really enjoyed about this book was that it was told in alternating past and present chapters, this kept the pace going and it was easier to follow their story.
“I would’ve waited for you, And I was. I was waiting for you.”
I really liked Briar, not only was she a really easy to like leading lady but I liked the fact that she was genuinely a nice person. Even when Burke was behaving like a total selfish jerk, she still managed to show him kindness. I really liked that even though she was anti marriage she still loved love and wanted to find that unconditional bond with Dorian. As for our hero Dorian, well I actually loved that he was the black sheep, rebel of his family. He gave of a very carefree confident vibe about him and I really liked that, even when he was Briar with Burke he was never mean to her, he was hurt and distant but never outwardly mean or cruel. I do have to say the relationship between Burke and Dorian was extremely toxic, I absolutely could not stand Burke!
Dorian and Briar could not have been more perfect for each other, they both did not see the point to marriage but understood and valued the importance of commitment. I loved the way they instantly clicked during the island bachelor/bachelorette party and that their connection was so strong that they both just knew that they were meant for each other. I have to say I loved the fact that Dorian wanted to wait to commit to Briar because he did not want their first year as a couple to be spent apart missing out on important moments, this was incredibly sweet in my opinion. I loved the tension and angst between them while on the family holiday. I will say that I was hoping for a bit more in the romance department from them while on the holiday, like maybe a stolen kiss or something.
All in all Fake-ish was a pretty good read, I loved that this was a fast paced but at the same time slow burn romance with a nice twist to it. In true Renshaw fashion the easy to relate to characters and engaging storyline will draw you in right from the get go. Definitely a must read!

Always a bridesmaid, never a bride—and that’s the way I like it.
I may be anti-marriage, but I’m still pro-romance. Case in point? That sexy curmudgeon I met last year during my cousin’s tropical bachelorette getaway.
That grump was Dorian, the groom’s old college roommate, there for the bachelor party. I couldn’t get enough of his messy brown hair and gorgeous turquoise eyes. We connected on a deep level—emotionally and physically.
But the timing wasn’t right. So we made a pact to reconnect in two years. Now I’m starting a new “job.” It’ll take a lot of work and pays really well—I’m talking seven figures here. All I have to do is pretend to be my boss’s new fiancée…and spend eight weeks with his family on their private island. How hard could it be?
Turns out, a lot harder than I thought. Because the man I’m pretending to love? He’s Dorian’s brother, and now all bets are off…

This sounds like a great book. Lots of tropes with a slight spin on them. Thanks for the review!
