Fallen Heir by Erin Watt: Pivoting from the soap opera of Ella and Reed, Fallen Heir centres on Easton, the middle wild-child of the Royal clan who more often than not has his own soap opera playing out. Still struggling with his mother’s death and his ADHD tendencies, Easton’s drinking takes on a whole new level. Add in new girl Hartley to the mix, who is definitely not Easton Royal – Player Extraordinaire’s type, we find East in quite the heart-sore boozy pickle. And unfortunately, his reputation precedes him. With older brother Reed gone from Astor Park, he struggles to maintain the Royal power Hierarchy of the school and protect Hartley from the worst of the worst – himself at the same time.

Academic, sharp and musical, Hartley is the perfectly drawn match-up for Easton and her resistance to his charms given her backstory, provide quality and depth to the chase that Easton pursues. For the life of him, Easton can’t figure out why this girl floats his boat and yet, as she continues to repel his advances, he opts for her friendship realising that he cares about her and desperately needs someone who sees him to help him quell his demons.

Determined to make Hart his girl, East’s inherent ability to screw up any situation unfortunately overshadows any real attempt he had of dating her, and whilst she desperately tries to ice queen him, she gives him a few inches, sadly to everyone’s detriment. Funny, witty and without doubt dramatic, the fourth instalment of the Royals is definitely a page turner.

Given Easton’s rogue-type lovability, its tricky to not root for him, hoping upon hope he can do something right and magical to win Hartley over but as with the previous books in the series, the twists, turns and life threatening burns add a crazy extra layer where more than just hearts end up on the line.

With heat, humour, love and a final cliff-hanger on par with the others, Fallen Heir delivers in spades and will leave you reaching for the following book to find out what happens next!
