Falling Into You by Jill Shalvis: Hazel Pierce decides to come back to Star Falls when she learns her father has had a heart attack. They have not had a true relationship in a
very long time, but maybe this will be a time to reconcile. She has a couple jobs line up for her own finishing business, It will be with Colburn Restorations. One of the partners in that company is Tucker Colburn. They had been close when they were younger, but things went wrong and she hadn’t really wanted to return to Star Falls.
Unfortunately, she meets up with Tucker much sooner than she anticipated. While driving along in her business van, a wasp flies in the window and stings her. This causes her van to topple over into a ditch. Tucker comes along and finds her. He’s less worried about her van and alarmed about the wasp sting. He knows Hazel is highly allergic. Hazel fights him, but eventually he uses his EMT skills and get her to the ER.
Once Hazel recovers, she works hard on her projects. She gets to know Tucker’s extended family better and sees the good life they have made for themselves in the small town. Can Hazel get over the past and settle down? Will she and Tucker learn how to care and trust each other again?
Falling Into You is the third novel in the series. It can be read on its own, but I recommend reading all three of these charming stories.
There was something so enjoyable about being back in a Jill Shalvis small town where family drama and gossip are basically part of the local infrastructure 🙂 The chemistry between Hazel and Tucker was flirty, emotional, and packed with years of unresolved feelings.

FALLING INTO YOU had everything I love about a Jill Shalvis romance. I loved the mix of humor, chemistry, and heart. Add in a meddling family, small-town charm, and a fun second-chance romance, and this was an easy story to get completely caught up in.

Some love stories don’t stay buried, no matter how far you run.
Hazel Pierce has three goals for coming back to Star Falls:
1. Help her estranged dad.
2. Keep things strictly temporary.
3. Absolutely, under no circumstances, fall for Tucker Colburn again.
That plan dies a dramatic, soggy death when a rogue wasp sting sends Hazel swerving off the road and into the river—only to be hauled out, half-drowned and furious, by the Star Falls Fire Department’s finest. Unfortunately, “finest” is ex–best friend, ex–one-night mistake, and the man she’s been avoiding for a decade.
Tucker’s always had a way of getting into her head. And now between a family that thrives on gossip and a town that’s way too small for all this chemistry, Hazel’s running out of ways to avoid the truth. As sparks turn into late-night confessions and slow, toe-curling kisses, Hazel has to decide if she’s done running—from her past, from this town, and from the only man who’s ever made her feel like home. And Tucker has to prove that this time, he’s not just her safe place to crash—he’s her always.
