Forbidden Obsessions by Jodie Griffin:  Firefighter paramedic Olivia Watterson is lucky to be alive.  She was fighting a fire with a defective hose and it burst. The intense water pressure caused her to violently fall from the ladder truck and onto her SCBA. Her injuries were severe and almost paralyzing. Luckily, her good friend and colleague Marcus Aiello, was able to get to her quickly and secure her spine without causing any additional damage.

Gabe McConnell is a skilled Dom and proprietor of the Bondage and Breakfast Inn.  He founded the inn so that couples had a safe place to practice and explore BDSM. Gabe also mentors couples and teaches them how to go about the lifestyle carefully and satisfyingly. Due to an arsonist fire, the inn is closed and under renovations. The tragedy of the fire has caused Gabe to second guess his decisions about himself and reopening the inn. However, Gabe misses the camaraderie of his guests and is kind of lonely. So after learning about Olivia’s situation from his friend Marcus, he agrees to let Olivia recuperate at his almost restored inn.
There is an instant attraction between Olivia and Gabe when she shows up on his doorstep.  In a very short period of time, they get to know each other and begin to care about one another.  Furthermore, Olivia finds Gabe’s lifestyle intriguing and is intensely drawn to his dominance.  Gabe brings out Olivia’s need to be a submissive and turns her on to his world.  But he finds himself holding back because he does not want to cause Olivia any additional pain or injury. All the while Olivia believes his sexual restraint is due to her being weak and delicate.  Luckily, Gabe realizes he needs to expose Olivia to his lifestyle completely, in order for them to have any kind of future together. BDSM is an essential part of Gabe’s life, like breathing and eating, so he can only share his life with a with a woman that lives the same way he does.

Every day Olivia and Gabe grow closer together.  As an independent and assertive woman, Olivia’s increasing need to be dominated is exciting, frightening and loving. With her body healing nicely, she is able to finally make decisions about her career and move forward as a paramedic firefighter. Olivia’s love solidifies Gabe’s decision to reopen the inn. Gabe is in love as well and wants Olivia with him always.
