In Garrett’s Destiny by Rebecca Zanetti, Destiny Applegate has a brain tumor and doesn’t have much time left, so when Garrett Kayrs invites her to take a trip with him, she willing hops on the back of his motorcycle. It helps that she recognized him from a dream. But then he takes her to the Realm to have their doctors figure out how to save her, she’s in for a surprise when she learns there are more than humans that exist in the world, and Garret, as a vampire-demon, is one of them. But Destiny isn’t the only one surprised; they discover that there’s more to Destiny than meets the eye. It’s a race against time to figure out what is going on with her before the tumor kills her.

I really enjoyed seeing so many characters from the previous books. It was nice to catch up with everyone, especially some of the characters readers haven’t seen in a while. It’s always fun to catch up with the Kayrs clan, and though they’re mad at him for joining The Seven, they don’t hesitate to support him and Destiny, even though they don’t know her.

The Hope/Pax/Drake triangle is still going on. Drake is still a mystery to me, and I can’t tell if he wants to use Hope for his own purposes or if he genuinely cares about her. Pax also has his own secrets; I’m looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds because it feels like Hope could choose either one of them.

Things with Ulric are coming to a head, and it appears the final battle is approaching. While I’m sad this part of the storyline is nearing its end, I can’t to see what happens now that the alternate worlds are collapsing.

This is the fifteen book in the series, and I would recommend at least starting with book 8, Vampire’s Faith, as this is where the storyline involving The Seven versus Ulric begins. Each story since then has been building off of that, and I feel if you start here, you might end up confused about some of the things that are taking place.

Once again, Rebecca Zanetti has outdone herself. It’s hard for a series to remain fresh when there are so many books in it, yet she manages to do so flawlessly. This is a must read for fans of the series and for fans of paranormal romantic suspense.

For most of his life, Vampire-Demon Garrett Kayrs, nephew of the King of the Realm, has carried a heavy mantle of responsibility with ease and control. Fate declared him heir to the throne, Fortune marked him with the power of the mysterious circle of Seven, and Chance promised more surprises to come. Nothing deterred him from his path. Until the nightmares began–agonizing dreams of having a female, the female, his mate, on the back of his motorcycle—only to have her torn away from his protection. He feels the menace around her, the danger she’s in, and he can’t rest until he finds her . . .

Destiny Applegate bears the weight of her name with a respectful balance of fear and purpose. She has been given some direction, but not nearly enough to truly understand her duty, what she was born to do. Even as a child, she had a sense of him. The him, her mate. A dream moment or two with him that might have saved her—or possibly cursed her. So now, when he finds her, she has no choice but to jump on the back of his bike and do her best to hold on until she discovers her path—even if that means ending his.
